GOTY 2016 speculation

History time.
UC2 and TLOU won more GOTY awards then any game in gamings history so its a safe bet UC4 will be the fav to win this year.
 
I praised all three Uncharted games, with 3 being my favorite. Story line was more humorous. I love the comedy in characters.
 
TLOU blew chunks. UC2 was eh, UC3 my favorite (which I guess won nothing). Opinions are fun. :grin:

PS - GotY 2015 = Rocket League. Fact. :wink:

My bet would be Uncharted, although it's very hard to know at this point. None of the contenders have actually been released yet. It's all guesswork.

I agree with Val that the game winning most GOTY awards from average/well-known sites would signal the "true" GOTY -- that's a good approximation.

Of course, "GOTY" does not equal "GOTY for ___ [your name here]." If your personal favorite doesn't win, just pick one of the following:

  1. Game journalists are stupid and/or corrupt.
  2. Game sites don't give awards to Xbox/PS4/PC/Nintendo games because they are biased.
  3. The game that won merely pleased the herd, whereas only the elite appreciate my game and so it got fewer votes.
  4. My favorite game wasn't marketed correctly.
  5. The whole thing is rigged.

I nominate myself as having the official word on what the GOTY of 2016 is; it's the only fair way to do things.

I do accept bribes in practically any form.
 
Way too early for this thread even frm a speculative standpoint, might as well guess 2017 games. Heck many of the games being mentioned here will be delayed to 2017 anyway.

I thought the uncharteddes (<---spelling :grin:) were great but if GOTY has a replayability / longevity factor it would be zero. I feel the same way about the tomb raiders.

Quantum Break is the game of the year, so after it comes out we might as well just move the calendar into 2017. It's not like time means anything anymore once that puppy is out.
 
Black ops 3 and the witcher 3 were my 2015 GOTY awards for me!!! . Hell my total plAytime reflects that . COD ghost 2 2016 GOTY ! Lol :) :) :)
