I find it highly unlikely the PS5 version is outselling the PS4 version by more than 2:1. Per the source:

"18% PS4, 43% PS5 in the US, in the UK the numbers are slightly different. 20% PS4, 44% PS5."
PS5 is the hottest "console" around.
Even with a smaller install base I can see the most popular NA game selling best on the most popular console.

Edit: here is another example...

China and the United States have been battling for the top spot of the biggest global gaming market for years. However, the government restrictions cut Chinese gaming revenues this year, making the US an absolute winner.

According to data presented by Safe Betting Sites, the United States generated nearly $55bn in gaming revenue this year, $11bn more than China.

The Biggest Revenue Difference So Far

Considered one of the mainstream forms of entertainment, gaming is an integral part of American culture. According to a Statista survey, there are over 156 million gamers in the country as of this year, and 65% of adults in the US play video games on at least one platform.

Despite gaming already having a solid presence in everyday media consumption, gamers continue spending more time and money on video games.

Three years ago, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the US gaming industry generated $28.4bn in revenue, almost $2bn more than the Chinese market. In 2020, when millions of Americans turned to video games amid lockdown, revenues jumped to $37.8bn. Chinese gaming market hit a $37.1bn value that year.

Chinese Gaming Revenues Dipped By $1.8B Due To Government Restrictions

China might be the world’s gaming capital regarding the number of gamers, but its gaming revenues dipped significantly due to government restrictions.

Despite having 714 million gamers in 2022, or four times more than the United States, Chinese gaming revenues dipped by a massive $1.8bn.

The world’s second-largest gaming industry faced an eight-month freeze on approving new titles, stricter government censorship of game content, and tighter rules restricting playing times for minors, all affecting the user base and revenues.

For the first time in its history, the Chinese gaming industry has seen its revenues drop by 3.8% year-over-year to $44bn in 2022. Also, after the latest push by Chinese regulators, the country lost around 66 million gamers.

No wonder MS wants to put it on GamePass and own COD. So they can boast about the player numbers for all these platforms 🤓

They getting desperate.

Getting desperate, lol. Just another example of your stupidity.

MS - We want the game on as many platforms as possible so people can play where and how they want.
Valliance - That's BS man. nYou lie. Liar liar pants on fire.
MS - Here is a 10 year deal which includes the allowance of putting COD on the PS+ sub service. Giving gamers greater opportunities and options to play.
Valliance - They getting desperate.

Fanboys and their dumbness, you can't make it up.

Yup they are desperate.
They keep changing terms because they want the deal badly.
Doesn't take a expert to see what's going on.
But hey fanboys will continue to be blind.

You are hilarious. You just described every business deal that was ever made. Silly little fanboy.

Funny how everything MS has done has lined up with what they said their intentions were.

You might need a new Avatar, that one is way too fanboyish for a self-proclaimed non-fanboy. lol.

Intentions were? Nonstop changing is not a sign of that.

Fan not fanboy. PlayStation does it best, until that changes they will get the deserved praise.

Unfortunately no solid competition is anywhere in sight unless maybe Nintendo can get it together with some new "modern" hardware as they have some of the game part right.

Fanboy.

Microsoft offering Sony the ability to pay to get it on PS Plus is why people feeling sorry for poor abused Microsoft are so ridiculous. Whatever concessions they end up making to make sure this goes through will certainly end up making this better then if they never got scrutinized at all.

The Federal Trade Commission's challenge to Microsoft Corp.'s $68.7 billion bid to acquire Activision Blizzard Inc. will help define the scope of its ability to police over-the-horizon competitive threats.

The agency argues the deal not only would choke off gaming console market competition, but would tilt the playing field in still-developing markets for subscription and cloud-based gaming.

That focus is integral to the FTC's aggressive approach to policing Big Tech under chair Lina Khan. But blocking a merger to head off concentration in emerging markets is tougher than moving against conduct in established ones, attorneys say.

"There are a couple challenges here. One is that judges like to see evidence, and evidence is inherently backward-looking," Barry Nigro, the head of Fried Frank's global antitrust department, said. "Having a good story to tell based on documents and testimony becomes more important in these sorts of cases—otherwise it's one side's vision against the other's."

The FTC faces a tough battle in proving anticompetitive effects in such markets, said Stephen Calkins, a professor at Wayne State University Law School.

"If you put together enough market share in a single market, there can be a presumption of anticompetitive market effects, and we're well on our way to saying its an anticompetitive market," Calkins said. "If you have a market without any sales yet, it's hard to have market share."

I am also reading that neither consoles is using Ray-Tracing for reflections 🤷‍♂️
Full notes from that video:

- The Nextgen patch will be available for free to all users who own The Witcher III GOTY on PS4, Xbox One or PC on December 14, 2022.
- PS5 and Xbox Series S offer two modes: Ray-Tracing or Performance. Xbox Series S also offers two modes: Quality or Performance.
- Ray-Tracing mode on consoles only applies to global illumination of the sun, moon and fire. Xbox Series S does not have Ray-Tracing. This mode also improves the quality of SSR reflections.
- Xbox Series S has lower settings. Performance mode reduces draw distance, vegetation quality and shadows.
- PC Ray-Tracing shows a palpable difference. It is the only version with Ray-Tracing for global illumination, shadows and reflections.
- On PC, Ray-Tracing has some visual bugs in shadows and reflections. These are expected to be fixed with future patches.
- PS5 has a slightly more noticeable pop-in than the other versions.
- Series X performs better with Ray-Tracing, but PS5 offers better performance in Performance mode.
- PS5 has better loading times.
- In some areas,Series X resolution is higher than PS5 and vice versa, but overall both have a similar average resolution.
- On Xbox Series S I recommend Quality mode, while on PS5 and Xbox Series X I would choose Performance mode.
- Hairworks still marks an advantage on the PC version in terms of the fur on some models. However, this technique does not behave correctly with Ray-Tracing global illumination.

So it sounds like the Series X version sucks and is completely unplayable.
