So ultimately The Quarry circles back to more familiar topical territory for Supermassive Games, but its tech has come a long way since 2015's Until Dawn. The detailed motion capture, materials, and Unreal's post-processing suite look largely superb, and work in service of your choices as you chart a course through its story. For PS5 and Series X owners, you can't go too far wrong - both push for 4K at a stable 30fps. The only minor grievance is on PS5, where we're missing the god ray effect in certain scenes. On Series S, necessary cutbacks for the 4TF console detract slightly from the experience, but it still holds together in terms of performance. All three versions still come fully recommended - and especially played together as a group, The Quarry is a real treat.

So like most comparisons, Ps5 and XSX decided by a bug and XSS is lower visual settings 🙂

People should stop pointing fingers at others to get them banned. Mods are probably aware as soon as you report the posts and they can have a discussion about it themselves.

It's not as big as having GAMES.
VRR is super niche and full of issues with most displays still anyway.

News is news, and it's championed as a next gen feature so you'd probably want it working as intended, which I'm sure Sony will address in an update.

Quarry snip
PC 45.36 Gb 4K Ultra settings with RTX 3080
Series S Dynamic 1440p/30fps (common 1260p) 46.80Gb
PS5 Dynamic 2160p/30fps (common 2052p) 43.60Gb
Series X Dynamic 2160p/30fps (common 2160p) 46.80Gb

- The game adds black bars during gameplay in all versions, which limits the horizontal rendering resolution.
- Series S has some cuts in vegetation, textures, tessellation, ambient occlusion, lighting effects and shadows.
- The PC version stands out for better (and very demanding) shadows. It can consume up to 25fps on High.
- The PS5 version does not have godrays.
- Loading times are quite fast on all platforms.
- Framerate on consoles is locked at 30FPS. Apparently there are some stuttering problems at specific times.
The above is from the Youtube video description

Load times - 5.5 seconds PC, 6.0 Seconds PS5, 7.5 sec XSS, 7.73 sec XSX

As noted God Rays are missing on the PS5

Shadows are best on PC, similar on PS5&XSX, and slightly lower on the XSS

Consoles locked at 30fps... PC runs around 41-45 - his comments say there are stuttering problems at times, but does not show them in the video

Vegetation similar on PS5, XSX, and PC - Lower on XSS

So par for the course here.

TLDR
PC-> PS5->Xbox SeX

PC as expected, is the choice of uncompromisd.

Yup. The god rays are probably a bug that will be fixed in a patch in the near short term. Surprised loading times are most optimized on PC though. Suggesting it might be first developed there and then ported over to the consoles.

Game Awards being handed out already :hehe:

Obviously they must do their awards every July otherwise it makes no sense to do it now lol. If it was best graphics I'd give it to H:FW but best game? who were the other nominees? The story wasn't very good, Aloy isn't a very interesting character, and the melee combat needs an overhaul lol.
