As you can see, Rockstar has made good use of the Playstation 4’s power. They have cited use of better reflections and lighting, and smoother textures.

Rockstar Games has shared additional details on what’s coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows this fall. There will be new wildlife, such as cats and hammerhead sharks, better foliage, more traffic, and more details on vehicles, including interiors and cockpit view. There will be new jobs, weapons, vehicles, properties, and player customizations.

Although these comparisons are PS3 vs. PS4, I put this here because it's a multiplatform title, and the improvements to X1 will be similar.

Glad I waited. Those are some major improvements.
 
has to be the worst comparison attempt ever. Maybe the PS3 version does look that bad, but the 360 version looks far better than that.
 
PS3 version is the better version graphically than 360 but I would agree with Menace that the shots captured are of low quality still GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One will be a very nice looking game.

Didn't you recently get a PS3 like I did? I'm playing through Demon's Souls & a few other Sony exclusives.

Man, I have seen so many games I was going to purchase get a PS4 re-release that I don't think I'm going to be purchasing many more PS3 games.

Some of the games I was interested in that are getting a re-release are:

GTA V
Diablo 3
Last of Us

Just to name a few. I needed to purchase a Blu-Ray player so when I was looking I found a PS3 on clearance for $170 so I don't regret my purchase at all.

Are you or anyone else feeling the same way?
 
If this next gen version can have a locked 30 fps I'm in. Large open scoped game I can sacrifice 60 fps, but if the frame rate rate is going to be sluggishly hovering in that 20-30 range then no thanks. Unfortunately, R* typically goes for scope over polished game engines, but since it's next gen there's always hope.
 
The biggest difference is that the game is no longer rendered at 576p, and thank god! It was just too pixelated to look at. I'm glad we are finally onto the next generation at last!

GTAV was 720p on 360/PS3. GTAIV was 720p on 360 and I think it was 576p on PS3.

Huh, that's weird for me if true. I was playing my friend's copy of the game, and I noticed big pixels. I guess I'm already getting spoiled by next gen consoles. That and I'm playing on a beautiful 47'' flatscreen. lol

Well, GTA isn't that great looking of a game anyway.
 
It's not a terrible comparison because the PS3/360 look better/worse than that.

They're bad comparisons because other than the one with just the trees showing the added wildlife and fauna, none of the images are of the same place with the same distance/aspect. One is of the PS3 @ say 100 yards and the PS4 image is from 20 yards.

Still, thanks for these Anderson, they give a sense of what MY pc will be able to do with this game on medium settings. CanNOT wait to see what it looks like maxed.

Hopefully the dude that did ICENHANCER comes back and does GTAV as well.

Hey Razor, actually I just traded my PS3 in for a PS4 yesterday. It's a nice step up. I agree with you about the re-releases. I didn't play any of the three you mentioned on PS3, and I'm looking forward to playing them on PS4.

Ha! That's is too funny. I won't be trading in my PS3 because I'll give it to my sons so they can have a Blu-Ray player.

That's cool. I'm glad you got a PS4 and since we were both behind in getting games, there is no need to double dip and rebuy the games.

Hoping for a big civilian and vehicle density improvement more than the expected visual upgrade on the console versions. The streets could end up being quite dead in single player and it got even worse in GTA Online.
 
Those pics make the PS3 versions look like crap honestly. IMO.

Icenhancer may work right off the bat. It is all the same engine as GTA4. I would not be surprsied to see that mod get a GTA V version very very quickly.

The cityscapes look amazing now.

The part where Franklin was walking down the sidewalk kind of gives you the impression that R* used next gen/PC footage to advertise the game.
 
I wish this was coming out a bit sooner as some of my friends were waiting on this announcement, but it's still good that it's this Fall. I know a lot of people will pick it up again. Especially since you can import over your character.
 
I love me some GTA. Going to buy this again on PS4 and then later on pc as well (once i upgrade my mobo/cpu). Amazing game! Can never get tired of it, personally.
