Half way through the year, what's your GOTY?

Can't believe the year is more than half over. What games have you really enjoyed so far? I would say it's been mostly lackluster this year but the last few months look really promising. For me, in no order:

Mario Kart 8
Bravely Default
Transistor
Child of Light
inFAMOUS: SS
Watch Dogs

If I had to pick one, Mario Kart 8 takes the award.
 
Tough choice. I agree the year hasn't been that great yet.

I think I have to go with DR3 so far though.
 
Hmm..has been a fairly crappy first half IMO. Keep in mind I have no current gen console.

Dark Souls 2
Watchdogs
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Grid: Autosport
Sniper Elite 3

Pick of the bunch: Dark Souls 2
Runner up: Sniper Elite 3
 
I'd have to say Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare if we're talking 2014 games we've actually played. Saints Row IV has been my favorite though.

honestly don't have one. Only have bought one game this year. titanfall.
 
Have to say Infamous Second Son. The others are all solid titles but Infamous was the best so far.
 
On current consoles I would have to say infamous so far. It's not perfect. But it's the one game that keeps me coming back to it.

Overall goty for me would be Shovel Knight. It's like the best NES game that I never got to play.
 
I have not played a full game that were released this year. :)
 
Wolfenstein: The New Order
I'm amazed that it's my choice, especially because I had zero interest in playing a Wolfenstein game. I heard good things about it and it was on sale for $40 so I gave it a shot. After my disappointment in Watch Dogs I needed something different. I cannot believe how much I'm enjoying this game.

The overall tone, the shooting, the stealth, the level design, the characters, the story, the music, the way they make you absolutely despise the enemy. I'm only about half way through so far, but I'm having so much fun with it. I'm playing on the toughest difficulty and I never care about dying so far because the gameplay is just really fun. So far, it also feels completely fair, which is a great experience when playing on increased difficulty. This is a game and a company that deserves to be rewarded. It's fantastic.

This could end up topping my list. I didn't include it in my first post because I haven't finished it yet, but it really is fantastic.

lol, that didn't even occur to me that this was a 2013 game. Well then, Wolfenstein it is.
 
It wasn't a good 1/2 year for gaming, at least on next gen AAA front. There are good games, but hardly "I have to go out & get a new console for this game' game.
 
Not a lot of great stuff out yet, so far. I guess Mario Kart 8 or Titanfall. Didn't Reaper of Souls come out this year? That would have to be up there though I guess expansions wouldn't count??
 
Other than Titanfall, I guess none. Wolfenstein fell way short of the buzz for me. Don't even get me talking about Watch Dogs.

Well if I can include 2013 games that I played this year, there's TWR2, Saints Row 4, and The Wolf Among Us, all on PC. The latter especially might be the most satisfying experience of all. But whatever platform you are playing, unless it's Wii U and Mario Kart 8, I think we can all agree that earlier this year has been pretty weak.

Then again, come to think of it, I think I prefer PVZ Garden Warfare to Titanfall. PVZ is pretty good. I gotta play more of it.

If we're including games we played this year, Journey.

If we're only talking about 2014 releases ... nothing, really. I've spent most of the year playing older games.
