In regards to finally they couldn't really do those kind of scenes consistently from a budget standpoint so going for quality over quantity looks like the right call.

Not only does the storyline seem extra pointless they seem to go out of their way to make her unsympathetic. You really have to wonder what they were thinking.

I've been wondering if the episodes were originally 30 minutes each and they decided to add this story line in later to add length, it seems so pointless and irrelevant. Even if the payoff for the storyline is fantastic, the execution has been sooooooooooooooooooo bad so far. Bad writing, bad acting, pointless time consuming scenes. I was rolling my eyes so much at the girl's bizarre "acting" choices this episode, I was worried they'd roll right out of my head.

If it ends with the Covenant glassing the planet I might start rooting for the Covenant

I was going to mention that. There have been several good shows that started out slowly/not really good that turned out to be great. Hopefully they take the feedback seriously and work on some things. Budget increases if the show is successful will happen also. That would help add more action down the line.
I'm not really feeling the Kwan storyline. Its not good at all. Dont know if they need to kill it or tweak, but they definitely need some work there.
My wife enjoys the show. Which might be telling since she knows nothing of the Halo universe. They definitely need a larger fan base than hard-core Halo fans.
 
I am at the part where they just poisoned King Joffrey, and I wanted that kid dead the second he was introduced to the show....hated the f***er more than anyone....THANK YOU!!!

Difference being that Game of Thrones had excellent writing, directing, acting, production, cinematography, and believable atmosphere from the opening scene.

The Halo series has none of those things.

Just like how you see that way for Games of Throne, I see it the same way for Halo.
 
Recent episode was solid. Much better written, directed, acted, and produced than most of what we've seen this season. Not having to see any of the Madrigal nonsense helped.
