I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That holds true with art style. I personally thought HZD wasn't a good looking game and looked "orangey" and brown. Games that have different art styles can have assets that look different, and not everything has to be the same or as real.
Now these screenshots, which are before and after screenshots from the Halo Infinite public game play debut last year compared to the updated Halo from February of this year appeal dramatically more to me. I can't say they are "better", but the art style, the color, the lighting, the shadows, are more appealing to me.

Halo has had a focus of 60fps, as well as substantially more enemies and vehicles on the screen. Now for Halo Infinite, they are looking at 4K and 60fps as well as 120fps for multiplayer.
Something is gonna have to give.
I will probably play the Halo Infinite campaign a minimum of 4 times tells me that the realism of the trees is the last thing I am concerned about. If I get the awesome GAME PLAY that we saw in the public debut last year of Halo Infinite, good luck prying my Elite 2 controller out of my hot sweaty hands.
