I think every company like Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony do this, but I reckon Sony do it the least.
If you look at Nintendo games, they are already making HD remakes on the WiiU, and they just always make, Pokemon, Mario Kart, any sort of Mario game really. What was the last lot of IP's Nintendo made ? I'm not sure as I haven't owned a nintendo for a while, but I don't think they make that many new IP's.
Microsoft, I know a bit about them since I have only owned a XBox since 2002, they seem to pick a IP and just keep remaking it. ON the 360 that I can remember: Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo ODST, Halo Wars, (there was another Halo Can't think of it), then FOZA 2, FORZA 3, FORZA 4 FORZA HORIZON, Fable 2, Fable 3, Fable Journey. Gears 1, Gears 2, Gears 3, Gears of war Juggernaught (or something like that, never played it)
Sony made Uncharted 1, 2 and 3, God of war trilogy, Asension and GOW 3, Grand turismo 5 and 6, KIllzone 1, 2 3.
Am I missing any other franchises from Sony they make a lot of ? I'm not trying to say Sony don't keep remaking thier franchises but seems to me they do it the least out of the big 3 companies and make more new IP's then any of the Big 3 ?
Resistance i believe has five games for Sony. Gran Turismo would have a bunch. For me i would say Nintendo is easily the leader in the sequel business. Whether Sony or MS is second, wouldn't be by much in my opinion. Both systems just have some popular franchises they tend to milk.
