is it not strange that media didn’t get codes to this GAAS game and made no comment of it?
Lol yes pleaseYou're asking for consistency in the video game media? Sir would you like a unicorn to go with your copy of Lost Odyssey 2?
true….but usually when, what feels like, any game that doesn’t reuse codes until the day of our later it’s because there’s something up with the game and sometimes the dev or pub doesn’t want any day one negative light, like cyberpunk not releasing day one console codes (only pc) to the media. Or in some cases they have them release the review embargo till launch day, usually cos it’s bad….like no one batted an eye or lifted a brow.LOL Suicide Squad had all kinds of controversy and it wasn't just IGN's negative
preview.
It depends on the game, usually yes but some of these online only games won't have enough people playing for reviewers to be able to really give you an informed opinion on what the experience is like. I know some review sites that do get codes for these types of games early don't actually review them early because they don't know what the actual experience that everyone else will have is like.Lol yes please

People were kinda disappointed with the last trailer, I thought it looked great, but, had some great art direction even if it’s not all there in the same quality standard for all its assets
Maybe Xbox should have funded it instead of Sony then. That's a miss on Xbox's part.Phil Spencer on Helldivers 2 Not Being on Xbox: 'I'm Not Exactly Sure Who It Helps' - IGN
Alongside the announcement that four Xbox games will be headed to other platforms, Phil Spencer also commented on other companies' approaches to exclusivity, namechecking Helldivers 2 specifically: "When I look at a game like Helldivers 2 — and it's a great game, kudos to the team shipping on PC...www.ign.com
Amid a flurry of Xbox news today, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer confirmed that four Xbox exclusives are headed to other platforms. He's not, however, expecting other companies to take the same approach.
In an interview for Stephen Totilo's Game File newsletter, Spencer specifically brought up Helldivers 2, Sony's first simultaneous PS5 and PC release, while touching on the subject.
"I will say, when I look at a game like Helldivers 2 — and it's a great game, kudos to the team shipping on PC and PlayStation — I'm not exactly sure who it helps in the industry by not being on Xbox," he said. "If you try to twist yourself to say, like, somehow that benefited somebody somewhere."
Still, Spencer relents a little bit, saying, "but I get it": "There's a legacy in console gaming that we're going to benefit by shipping games and not putting them on other places. We do the same thing."
He also pointed out that that Helldiver 2's simultaneous release on PC and PS5 is "doing really well," and he's not wrong. The cooperative action sequel notched Sony's biggest-ever game launch on Steam when it debuted last week.
Having the game day one along side the PS5 helped.255k on steam last night has be split between its great to see a game like this succeed and oh no Sony will crank up the service game dial.
It f***ing helps Sony. Jesus.Phil Spencer on Helldivers 2 Not Being on Xbox: 'I'm Not Exactly Sure Who It Helps' - IGN

I don't think it would move consoles, but yeah....I think consoles offering a menu of games specific to it is what a consumer is looking for.It f***ing helps Sony. Jesus.
I hate it when they give their opinion of a game beyond just the technical aspect.
Considering Sony published the first one and the dev has never put anything on Xbox I don't think they had much of a shot here.Maybe Xbox should have funded it instead of Sony then. That's a miss on Xbox's part.
