Help Picking a New TV

By next year the g2 may be even cheaper, if it’s still around. Atm the 55” G2 Is 1500, but I’ve seen it go on sale as low as 1200.
In the USA right?

Canadian dollars is a different thing. It's definitely now on my radar......

It's on the list. I will shop around when the time comes.

I second the g2 (I’m a Samsung fan), granted I don’t have one but I’ve used it and seen it in action at in other homes. The LG TVs have the most features and four hdmi2.1 ports or whatever the latest number it is atm lol

Sony does make some really good TVs, I’ve used my brothers, with integrated speakers that are really good and said tv has a feature where it could be used as a center channel for your theater setup.

Hisense and TCL make some good ones too….I forget the specific models, but that may be dependent on the purpose of the tv. But honestly there’s no bad TVs, well the pricey ones/flagships.

But I’m sure there’s others out there with first hand use and better knowledge…. @Nervusbreakdown
I am not crazy about LG but Samsung will be my first pick, after Hisense, TLC last.

Yeah I doubt the G2 will still be available next year but the G3 will be when the G4 comes out. The G3 is even better than the 2.

So yesterday I dropped into a Bestbuy just to have a look. They didn't have the G2 but they had a C2.........

Yeah that looks pretty dope. But so did a Sony A80K I believe it was?

These are in my price range, so I'm going to have to compare the specs.

Whatever you get know that you're getting a quality TV. And if the Canadian best buy is like the American on GET the Warranty. Its one of the few that cover burn in on oleds.

I’m have the G2 so that comes with a 5 year warranty from LG. But I never even had burn in on my C6 from 2016. The newer OLEDs are even better at not developing burn in.

That's a great price. Half the price of what it's going for in Canada.

Any advice I'm looking for on here, you gotta remember I don't live in the USA, and our exchange rate is terrible, and our supply is not the same.

And I'm not choosing a TV until February next year, and also need a new receiver to go along with it.

If I saw that TV for $800 Canadian, it would already be purchased (but I'd be wondering why it's so cheap)

Thanks a lot though. I will do my research for whatever I buy. It's on the list for sure!

edit: I'm also dead set on 55", 42" hell no.

I really appreciate your help though just so you know.

It's gotta be 55" And I'm looking at Sony or LG OLED, but not until next year on deep discount.

I’m sure there’ll be more discounts as we get closer to fall…. Serious question, how hard is it to say cross on over for a few hours to visit the closest city with an American bestbuy? Would you get taxed or pay some fee for bringing over a tv that’s cheaper in the states that it is there?

I’ll keep an eye out for a 55”

Well, first of all I don't have a passport. That would cost $120 or something, then the gas, and yes I would have to declare it when re-entering and probably have to pay massive duty and tax.

Hmmm, is @Plainview the closest to you, thought we had some members like right up against Canada. Maybe drive up, say it’s to get it repaired, and then just met up and exchange it for gas money and some change?

Yeah it's an idea.

But there's also the exchange rate.

I'll get something good, even if I have to raise my budget. I should be well out of credit card debt by then.

A/V Receiver I will probably buy a new model, whatever that is next year and if it Yamaha or I try something else.

Thanks for the ideas.

I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding that model if you buy one for me.

It's a good TV, I would go for the 95k for a better picture, correct me if I'm wrong but LED tech is moving towards mini LED backlighting, this is full array which is good a few years ago, but has a fraction of the lighting points that mini LED (QLED) TVs have, still had your VRR and 2.1 inputs, but if possible I'd try a step up, will be a great TV regardless, Sony TVs are great.

That's a great deal. That's the lowest price on that TV in the last 120 days.

It's not a Sony TV though. Sony > LG.
I’d be using it for gaming and work, not really movies or editing video. Mostly illustrator or photoshop work. I’ve seen many artist and reviewers say they’re great alternatives to reference monitors, but most recommend the c2 or g2 cos more options in the dev mode.

Just get Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 v2 and a Zenith and call it a day.

People will say it’s a great tv, there’s a few others ok here who have lg c series TVs, but said deals/sales are making really hard for me from not pulling the trigger 😆
LGs are amazing, i don’t listen to Sony fangirls. Sonys TVs use LG panels, not worth the extra money over an LG Oled.

Probably one of the best you can get imo, brighter than the standard C series (which is already great imo) plus all your bells and whistles for gaming plus one of the lowest latency screens out there.

Get it!!
Ok! Wife approves after showing her. She says wait till Black Friday sale though.

I think bestbuy already has there Black Friday sales going on…

Or if ya wanna spend 200 bucks more, go a lil smaller but it’s brighter…

Need 65. But I saw that price but I assumed that the Black Friday price is only available to Best Buy members and I can’t see that price cuz I’m not a member 😳. And that their price, whatever it is, is available to them early and common folks like me available later?
