Trails in the Sky: First Chapter is my choice for this year.

Added it to the poll.

I admit I've only played two of the games on the list. Haven't even heard of a couple. The games are spread pretty widely among the platforms -- wider than the big-game GOTY candidates, anyhow.

No votes for Transistor. That surprises me a little. (edit: one now.)

I've played it and it IMO seems like a more style over substance game. Wasn't really WOWed by it.

Transistor would had been my vote, but Trails in the Sky has way more content. I agree with Transistor being more style over substance.

Never Alone if you can add it. Otherwise another poll where I played none of the games on it.

Added it to the poll. Good game, from what I hear. I'm glad you mentioned it.

Sheeple master race. Seven out of 10 is my highest rating for them. Crazy Seeyik.

There were a bunch of really good indies this year - my runners up would be: Tower of Guns, Super Time Force Ultra, Broforce, and Shovel Knight.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be pretty tough between Dungeon of the Endless and Isaac Rebirth. I would give it to the former hands down but I haven't put nearly as much time into Dungeon, so I can't say how well it holds up with with repeat playthroughs.

Hearthstone is also strangely addicting for me but that would fall into my 'big budget' game of the year list.

I really want to play a few of these, Ethan Carter especially.

I voted Shovel Knight because it's the only one I played. It's an awesome game. I'd vote Geo Wars 3 if it was an option because of replayability.

That's a game I really want to play.

1. Valliant Hearts: The Great War (9)
2. Shovel Knight (6)
3. (tie) Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Child of Light (4)
4. Endless Legend (2)

The rest got 1 vote each.

I'm looking forward to Ethan Carter coming to console. I'll have to take another look at Shovel Knight, too. It didn't seem too appealing on the face of it, but there must be something fun about it, because I've seen it winning best indie GOTY awards elsewhere.
