Or at least they tried...
Due to sub-zero temperatures this week, we've had multiple pipes bust. Some were in the bathroom downstairs which caused it to fill with 2 inches of water all the way across.
Then, later a pipe busted in the basement causing water to build up in there. Luckily, it's not a finished basement, and the water mostly drained out.
There were tons of others in the area who had busted pipes including the city itself. Several streets were closed for a while.
After I had a guy down the street help me fix the pipes, and I finally got to turn the water back on, there was a big chemical leak in the area, so my tap water is now poisonous. I can't take a shower, wash my hands, drink it, or cook with it. Nice.
Apparently this chemical leak affects 9 counties in West Virginia, which is a pretty big area actually. I have no idea when this will be fixed, but they better get on the move. Oh, and it affects every building that gets tap water, so yeah, that's bad.
Well, at least the temperatures are back to normal for a while.
