Just Cause 3

Fan of the previous too and the splozions on this one look so tasty. Bad timing for me as I am just starting Fallout4 so this will wait until next year to play. Looking forward to hearing impressions from those who do buy a copy this week.

Well, it's with great sadness I post this video, definitely watch if you're planning to buy on console..

Whatever man, I'm going down with the ship on this one, preorder stays!!

Not buying at launch

I probably won't pick it up at all now. NX Gamer (I think) is reporting upwards of 15 minute load times after playing for more than an hour, and 17fps at times while playing the X1 version.

I've been watching several streams of the console versions, and I'm not seeing anything close to game breaking. Regardless, we will know more when the reviews hit in a few hours. I'll also post some impressions late tonight after it unlocks.

Anyway, funny vid from GameSpot...

Definitely a give and take game so far. Framerate and loading issues are very real, but blowing stuff up is every bit as fun as it looks.

Holy sh!t, 15 min load times after playing for upwards of an hr?! This is the type of game where I'd easily put in multiple hrs at a time...

This is why the frame-rate niggles with this game do not bother me! I love physics destruction, and this looks the best!

Yep, I'm having a blast. I haven't been bothered by the frame rate or loading screens, they aren't as bad as I thought they would be.

Like 15 minutes of continuous loading, or several loading times adding up to 15 minutes?

From the vid I took it as it could get as bad as 15 mins of continuous loading, after he'd been playing for more than an hour. That was when he'd load up a previous checkpoint/save

I just went back and watched the analysis vid you Razzel posted. @5 mins in the commentator says after playing for over and hour it took nearly 15 mins to load a save.

Oh wow, missed that. Nope nothing like that for me. One good thing I've noticed is that when you resume the game after your Xbox has been off, there are no issues. That's nice despite the other technical issues.

Just another must play game on my list. Just Cause 3 looks like some crazy fun. I'll get to it someday.

Well, final thoughts from me after putting in a bunch of hours into this game. Overall, a great game solely because it gives you an experience you can't get anywhere else. The amount of destruction and general craziness you can cause in this game is insane, the wingsuit is an absolute blast to use, and for that reason I think it's one of those games I'll continue to play for years, even if only in short bursts.

The negatives really are all about the technical issues. I honestly haven't been too bothered by the loading screens, never really ran into anything crazy in that area, but the framerate issues are a real drag. Too often it feels like you are walking in mud because the engine can't keep up with all action.

Really hoping for a patch. The physics and explosions in this game are the best I've seen in an open world game, especially since they give you all the tools you need to have a enjoy those physics and explosions lol. If they patch the game I would give it a 9.5 based on fun factor alone. As it stands right now it's about a 7.5-8 in my book.

Yeah. Won't be buying this one for a while. Looks cool but kinda mindless in the fact of how the destruction would actually take precedence over exploring the world and completing missions. I get to distracted by s*** like that in open world games. No matter how fun a game may be, I still want the f***er to end. I got things to do.

Cool beans, that bout killed it for me when I heard that.

I love this game. This is probably my favourite game of 2015. I am sucker for massive open worlds and this games map is enormous and so awesome. The destruction and blowing s*** up is always fun, especially doing something suicidal. I really enjoy liberating towns but then again I did in Just Cause 2. For me, whilst I enjoy the chaos and carnage I enjoy a respite from it by just driving around exploring the wonderful world Avalanche have created. The story is passable at best but the pure unbridled joy I get from exploring and liberating towns makes up for that. There is performance issues but nothing that has deterred me. The only frustrating thing is for me are the load times and sometimes connecting to the Square Enix service (in a single player game wtf...). They have nailed the fictional European setting, having been in South of France recently I could easily see some of these locales being in Europe and the towns are very reminiscent of old European towns.

Spent 2 hours with the game and so far it's not giving me 20fps or less and the longest load time so far has been 35 seconds.

Oh... and Just Cause 2 runs great on BC......

I will wait for patch and get the xb1 version if they still offer free JC2, never got to finish that game.

JC2 is a code that comes in the box and as I say above. Plays well and is still a great game.

I can't see a patch fixing some of the framerate issues that are obviously tied to the physics calculation overload. Probably will fix the loading issue, though.

just spent a further 5 hours playing this and "nothing" over 30 seconds in loading (apart from when 1st loading) and mostly around 20secs when dying or restarting a mission. FPS continues to run well, with no noticeable drops as yet.

games strawberry floating brilliant by the way. i'd also mention i'm running from external drive.
