Killzone: Shadow Fall Thread

Agreed Mofo ( ), but then this makes me wonder if the COOP missions are even in the game or if they're all going to be DLC.

.

Sounds like online co-op is DLC only. Starting with Horde mode, then additional modes at a later date.

$20 for multiple coop map packs, and 2 mutliplayer map packs, is a pretty good price.

The MP map packs are co-op only, though. All competitive MP maps are free.

Hmm, I wonder if the "multiplayer expansion packs" they list with the pass are something other than maps then. Weapons, abilities, or skins only available for season pass people, perhaps.

It may be that stuff, but I can't see it only being available to season pass holders. I'm just glad the competitive maps will all be free. It sucks buying a map pack, only to have it rarely get into rotation, or having to stick to new maps only games, because that gets a bit boring as well.

I’m going to put this out there now. If GG ships their co-op offerings without matchmaking but is only available to play with friends by invite only I’m going to burn my Killzone disc.

There will be more than 1500 challenges available when the game launches, ranging from straightforward (“Destroy 1 Turret”) to very specific (“Kill 1 enemy player with Laser Tripmine while they are carrying a Beacon”).

That's exactly what I was worried about. I'm not good with those kind of challenges at all.

Guerrilla: Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer runs at 60 fps "a lot of the time"

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...-multiplayer-runs-at-60-fps-a-lot-of-the-time
To sum up GG:

PS3 era: 30 fps is fine. No need for 60 fps

PS4 KZ plug early 2013: 30 fps is fine. No need for 60 fps

PS4 KZ plug spring 2013: Hold onto your hats, we're aiming for 60 fps!

PS4 KZ plug just now: Well, the frame rate is unlocked. It'll be 60 fps some of the time. Take it easy gamers, 60 fps isn't as important as you think..... (though we were gunning for it and surely would heavily promoted 60 fps if it was locked at that rate)

the single player is still 30fps so f*** off with the trolling

The game will be fun, especially with friends. I'm waiting a while on getting the consoles, but every time I see KZ4 it makes me think about getting one earlier.

The Eurogamer Expo Shadow Fall presentation was good to watch. Glad to hear the speaker mention they stressed teamplay during certain decisions.

This game is pretty, but I am more and more losing interest. Not sure why really, I guess it just doesn't seem to be doing anything new. This might be my first Redbox of the next gen.

well that's not a good thing they are already admitting it isn't locked at 60fps, judging by how it looks, I thought a dev like guerilla could easily get this at 60fps on ps4.

That's fine. I guess this is how they will be able to finance the free multiplayer maps for all. I am looking forward to this with great anticipation. Actually adding the horde mode is a boon to me, much like Buster has said.

For some reason, i'm not that hyped up about killzone 4. Looks decent, but i find i get bored with kz gameplay after a while and this looks to be standard kz gameplay. I can keep going with battlefield or cod. I'll try this game out next year when i can find it for 30 bucks.

Killzone Shadow Fall will ship with 10 multiplayer maps as well as 6 free DLC maps
Authored by Matt Hadden

As Guerrilla Games get ready to move their Killzone franchise over to the PlayStation 4, they stopped by at the EuroGamer Expo to give a talk about the new additions to the series as it prepares itself for the next-gen of consoles.

There has been plenty of information about the game since it was revealed all the way back at the PlayStation 4 reveal in February, and now we have some information regarding the multiplayer maps as well. They revealed during their presentation that they would be shipping the game with 10 multiplayer maps as well as some “competitive multiplayer dlc maps” for free.

That is a pretty decent amount of maps to be included in the game, on par with what Battlefield 4 will have at launch as well. The extra 6 DLC maps f0r free is a nice touch as well, I’m trying to remember the last time a well known FPS gave out free maps rather than bundling them in a map pack.

During the presentation they said that they don’t “want to splinter off our audience into different groups,” which is a nice thing for them to be doing. Hopefully they stick to their word later on down the line though.

What do you guys think to the multiplayer maps from the little thumbnails we can see? They certainly look vibrant and very varied it has to be said.

Even though Intellivision is being a bit snarky, no reason to be so hostile with the request.

@Intellivision, don't be so snarky man. Besides, I highly doubt you're picking up Shadow Fall with your PS4 purchase. 30FPS single-player, 60FPS multiplayer is an interesting compromise, and I'm curious how gamers will react when Shadow Fall is released.

I love the variety in aesthetic amongst the multiplayer maps so far. Each map using a pretty different color palette. Guiralla Games artists FTW.

I'm going to go with: I doubt that he's even buying a PS4.

He'd rather lick his own balls.

As charismatic as you are M, no reason to suggest another member would prefer to lick his own balls over buying a PS4. Granted, I'm sure every man has dreamt of the luxury a dog possesses.
