With a smaller online community than some of the other top shooters out there, it is a great thing that the competitive multiplayer maps will be free to everyone. It prevents segregation of the community and hopefully will extend the life of the multiplayer by introducing new maps periodically. Can't wait until Nov. 15th!
I believe Forza 5 will beat KZ:SF in terms of Sales... as for Story... KZ series in story isn't exactly art
But the hard as s*** moments in KZ like the Radec bossfight is like and
Radec was badass. They need to bring him back somehow. I don't care if it is way past the events in K2.
The XBone's smaller install base this year combined with the fact gamers are getting Gran Turismo 6 this year, Forza Horiza came last year, and Forza 4 came two years ago...and I think it Forza lands in second place. Plus DriveClub and Need for Speed Rivals are competing against it as well. Shadow Fall seems to have knocked down so many hurdles that prevented it from getting really big in the past.
Only time will tell though.
I never played KZ2.. I am missing out on this moment between you guys.
Writing wasn't anything special, but he was no-nonsense, and the voice actor did a great job:
The final boss fight with him was a lot of fun as well. Except on the hardest difficulty. Not so fun.
Aside from the pretty graphics....it's really not doing much for me. Maybe because atm i'm just very tired of shooters, dunno.
“We really pushed them to make better triggers that go up. Also stuff like the touch-pad. When I first saw it on the prototype controller I was like, ‘What the hell am I supposed to do with that? It’s not an iPhone game.’ But I’m really surprised as to how well that little thing works. I’m not promoting it, I don’t have to sell that controller, but I’m really happy with how it works in our game. Everything else works now, from response time, the dead-zones, everything is better. The lag is gone, and that makes Killzone a better game.”
PS4 Players Upset with ‘Dedicated Servers’ on Killzone Shadow Fall
Last week, all of the major publications ran articles titled “Killzone Shadow Fall has Dedicated Servers.” PS4 fans immediately took to the comment sections of these articles to praise this bit of news. But while most readers seemed to only catch the headline and decided to run with it, there was another group of PS4 fans who were upset by the news.
Here is the official Killzone Shadow Fall answer to how their multiplayer network is structured. This comes from an interview with the Playstation Blog.
Killzone Shadow Fall has dedicated servers hosted in various regions around the world. These servers do not run the logic of the game – they only act as a hub between the clients, forwarding network traffic from one player in game to all other players in game. This allows people with a slower connection or strict firewall settings to play without issues. Almost all logic relating to you (e.g. moving, shooting and taking damage) runs on your local PS4, with only a very small portion of the game logic (i.e. mission/scoring logic) running on the ‘session master’, one PS4 in the game selected for its connection quality.
Head over to the Killzone community forums, and you’ll find more than a couple of threads where users are upset that they will not see true dedicated servers. If one PS4 is selected for its connection quality, then it is not a dedicated server in the sense that most gamers tend to think about dedicated servers. The system Killzone Shadow Fall will use is the system that many games already use. Several players are comparing it to the KZ2 server situation.
Was like that for KZ2 and 3. Dedicated servers for matchmaking and stats and being the hub, P2P for actual gameplay. As usual, gamers barely read the articles beyond the title.
Video: Killzone: Shadow Fall's Looking Seriously Stunning These Days

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
Helgasp
Guerrilla Games was unlikely to ever disappoint in the visuals department, as the Dutch developer is arguably one of the most technologically proficient outfits in the industry. Nevertheless, some people felt that Killzone: Shadow Fall was a bit of a letdown back at E3 2013 in June. That’s certainly doesn't appear to be the case anymore, though.
Embedded below is five minutes of gameplay from the Igromir Expo in Moscow, which shows off the title’s forest stage in its current guise. Improvements over the demo that we played earlier in the year are plentiful, including the addition of moving mist, object based blur, and more. There’s a spot of tearing here and there, but we’d expect that to be fixed prior to release.
Alright, it’s off-screen footage so it’s hard to get the full impact – but we reckon that the fog in particular is a gorgeous addition that really adds to the atmosphere, even in this low quality clip. Expect the futuristic first-person shooter to be the prettiest title available for your shiny new PlayStation 4 come launch. Are you planning to pick it up? Let us know in the comments section below.
