King's Quest

I got mobbed by squirrels. Maybe they think I'm nuts. I've been exploring every death possible in this game. There is quite a few. I can't wait for this next episode.
 
Unfortunately, I'm not enjoying the game as much as I'd hoped. I like the art style, the characters, the voice acting, and the lighthearted tone. I just don't enjoy the actual gameplay -- that old adventure style ... run here, run there ... find the doo-hickey that fits in the whatchamacallit so you can open the thingamajig... plus all the backtracking. It just doesn't interest me that much. I find it sort of tedious.

I'm tired tonight, so maybe that's part of my reaction, although I felt the same last time. I'll try again another day. But it may not be my style of game. I guess I never did get into the old style adventure games much. I liked Escape from Monkey Island all right, but I remember having to persuade myself to keep going.
