FFXVI was definitely mentioned as coming to PC. Not sure I'll bother to play it even if it hits GP Ultimate, though - I gave XV a solid chance but I honestly don't feel like getting back into it and I got nowhere near the end. They need to take a break from the numbered series and do a proper goddamned next-gen Tactics.

The verdict saaaaaaaays

After months of waiting, Sony has finally done it! We now have the PS5 release date and price! Annnounced via today’s PS5 showcase, the PS5 will be out on November 12 doe US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, while the rest of the world gets it on November 19! The next-gen console will have two price points: the discless version will retail for $399, while the one with the disc drive wil sell for $499.

I told you so. The numbers don't lie.

599 US DOLLARS!!!

Why does it say other consoles? Why would it be on other consoles?

So Horizon Forbidden West and Miles Morales are also coming to PS4.

I expect concern trolling about the PS4 holding back the PS5.

Additionally, we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4. While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.

not much of a bomba but still weird that it cost Sony an extra hundred to produce a 4k drive. Unless they reacted to the S and needed to come close as reasonably possible without a huge loss.

I’m still reserving both variants tho

It never was $100 to begin with. Just because they price it at $500 doesn't mean it took $100 to put the price there. I tried to tell you that. With the BluRay drive in there, it was about $50 (perhaps even slightly under) on top of the $400, putting the actual manufacturing cost at $450. By removing the BluRay drive and reducing the SSD to 825GB, Sony was able to get near the $400 mark. So either they broke even or they are losing a very, very small amount on that digital unit -- something they will EASILY make back on a digital game and then some or an accessory by itself. That is just how small it is.

And because Sony is an electronics company, they can cut a lot of costs where their competition can't. That is what makes them so formidable.

let’s wait for the tare down from people who know the prices.

Sony is building their consoles in the same place iPhones, Xbox’s and other companies have, to quote trump “China”, at Foxconn
