Madden NFL 15 Impressions

Actually traded some older games for the Xbox One version. Figured what the hell? Haven't played a Madden since Favre was on the cover. I used to be actually very good at it and the newest one intrigues me. I'll probably be super rusty but Fall isn't complete without football, in my opinion.

Been playing Madden 15 for about an hour now. It's the best Madden in years. Which isn't saying much but it really feels like a next gen football game.

I love the iso cam on defense. Coming off the edge and blowing up a run play is really satisfying.

Defense overall is much improved and actually fun. The way the CPU plays defense is more realistic too. Your WR's can actually beat corners one on one and can actually go up in the air to get the ball.

Madden is full of cocks. Stop any replay and zoom into the crowd...what do you see? A sea of dick. A total sausage fest. Not a female fan in sight.

....is it a double standard, everyone hating on Ubi for not having a playable female character when you won't find a single female in Madden, playable or not.

I've been watching some the critical videos on Youtube trashing the AI and physics. i can agree with what they're saying, but to a casual fan like myself, i'm still having fun with the game.

I wonder if EA would ever let anyone other than Tiburon make the game? most of the games issues have been there for years.

A lot of the people making YouTube videos about A.I. issues are just catering to the audience they have. A.I. has to make bad decisions sometimes -- NFL players make mistakes and that should be in the game. They search for one example of it and then classify the game as a whole as having "bad A.I." or having the exact same A.I. as previous versions. It's silly. If it was the other way around people would be complaining about how cheap/overpowering the A.I. is.

There are definitely problems in the game but saying that A.I. needs to do something all the time to make the game realistic is actually unrealistic since (again) real players/teams make mistakes too.

Well they do have valid points on some things. Like blockers not engaging beyond the first level.Or the fact that a players stats mean very little on the field.

This game is getting so much love I had to pick it up. I only played a few games and only controlling the running back, but it is really good. Graphics are amazing. The movement feels more realistic, but not as rigid as 25 next gen.

The only big negative is the playcalling. I'm no strategy expert, but Madden 25 seemed decent in recommending a few plays. 15 seems pretty bad in this regard. The whole community play feature may not work as intended, but maybe it will improve as people play more.

I have only bought a handful of Madden games ever. I never cared for them, but they really seem to have put some work on this.

No, I definitely agree that the game has problems. I'm just tired of people who can't admit to their own confirmation bias (i.e.: "If one thing happens and/or goes wrong then the whole game is trash and is exactly the same as it has been for the past 5+ years".)

Yep, and I have been a long time harsh critic of Madden games, but I was impressed with 25 and even more with 15. You have to give credit where it is due. EA is working on the stat issue as well (one of the EA folks posts at operation sports).

Sadly, I think NHL is turning into the game they do little with each year. If you want to see bad AI, try the NHL 15 demo.

To get me to switch from NHL to Madden is a big deal.

If EA is going to keep the exclusive deal for the forseeable future, I would just like to see another studio within EA get a crack at the franchise. Tiburon has had it for far too long, even if this year's game is an improvement over last year's game.

Well, what they would need to do is take a year off as they've done with other EA Sports games and totally revamp everything (NHL 07, etc).

That will never happen with Madden though obviously.

Here is a comparison screenshot of Madden NFL 15 posted by Bryan Wiedey, who is an analyst at pastapadre.com. This screenshot comparison between the Xbox One and PS4 version of Madden NFL 15 tell us the real story of the visual effects that these leading consoles offer.
The screen comparisons are done at exact same settings and with the same screen capture tool. It has been only two days since the launch of Madden NFL 15 on our beloved next gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One.

This game is a blast. It may be hard for some to believe, but this years version has really given this series the shot in the arm it needed. I think this is one of the best looking next gen games ive seen to this point as well. Dat defense is soooo much fun to play. Haven't said that about Madden in a long time. Those on the fence, stop hesitating. Pick this one up now, and have fun with it all season long.

Pretty obvious the sun is above the stadium shining on the players in one image, and below the stadium in the other.

Seems like the X1 has a slight advantage in terms of general playability, though both games appear to be on par graphically. Still, if you have both systems, I believe the Xbox One would be the way to go. Glad I chose to go with the X1 on this one.

We'll have to wait for DF for an actual objective comparison, but I doubt EA Sports would take advantage of either consoles strengths. When have they?

Until yesterday none of us have ever heard of "pasta padre" and I just read that article and it sounded like a bunch of rambling thoughts from one guy. "Xbox one version seems more dynamic" and "On extreme close-ups I would give the edge just barely to the PS4 but pulled back maybe to the XB1." I'm not even sure what these statements mean.
