I failed with the nose up. It was like a roller coaster. Nailed the second one though. My Elite seems to be very sensitive, and the left thumb is loose so a push on it up doesn't make it move right when I start pushing it. Not getting a new one since it doesn't have a share button.

During the tutorial, first section, I had to line up the lines with the mountains. When I held it there, my plane was always going left the entire time (albeit slow). I assume it shouldn't be going left on it's own during that and I am experiencing drift from my stick?

I imagine flying with a controller is pretty tough. I use a joystick on PC and even that is a little too sensitive. I doubt I could even do it with a controller. One of the gripes from real world pilots is that the controls are very, very twitchy. A little single engine Cessna shouldn't react like a fighter jet.

I also use a throttle control, as power is really important with landing. You really have to raise/lower power to land properly. When landing, you actually want to pitch the nose up to slow down, add power to add altitude. It is sort of backwards. It is also really easy to come in too fast even with the small planes, plus the ground effect is sort of exaggerated (you feel like you're going to touch down and something pushes you back up)

My guess is that it copies my controls over from PC to Xbox? I simply can't do anything in the menus. My best guess is it is looking for a mouse that isn't there?

People using the "drone" now to walk through airports.

Yes. Mine goes right. I have to constantly slam it left in shooters to stop it.

Ah crap, I mean RIGHT, not left. Ok, well then I am going to go back and use my Series X controller then. I haven't used it yet since I just synced up my Elite 2 right away.

That's the torque effect of the prop. In a single engine prop plane, the propeller spinning in one direction causes the plane to pull to one side. The effect is a little strong in MSFS to be honest.

Ok. I will try another plane to verify.

If I remember too the crosswind effects can sometimes be overdone. A 10 mph wind can really cause the plane to turn. I doubt it is your controllers.

I put several hours into the game last night (stayed up way too late). Home town flights, present town flights, multiple former town flights, places I've visited flights. Pretty awesome so far. I'm sometimes amazed at the things I can spot on the ground, and sometimes I'm really disappointed with how inaccurate the ground is in other locations. Overall, the good has far outweighed the bad, it's as cool as I was hoping, having a great time.

How do I get the plane to maintain one specific elevation? It's either always climbing or always descending, controller is much too sensitive to ever get it set to one spot.

You can manually set it using the real knobs in the plane.

Trim is your friend in this game. It makes flying a breeze. Take off get to FL33000 and take a nap on your flight to Barcelona.

The alternative is.....crash because you are trying to fight against gravity constantly. Trust me. I have experience.

I have been at work and we had company last night. Now we are headed up to the cabin till Sunday night 😳
