I understand the game is playable, but I was annoyed playing bf3 on ps3/360 with the crap menu systems, EA servers being down, etc etc etc. The game was great when it worked, and that was most of the time.
Btw i could give a damn less about the xb1/pc version or performance comparisons, I'm not buying those versions.
Also, if you are a known sony cheerleader here(you know who you are), and we all know the 7-8 that roam here, not interested in your obvious positive opinion at all, its a waste of time. Just want to know from others if I should hold off and wait until it gets some more patches or wait til infamous rolls around, that was my original plan. I have 2 ps4's left and I'm thinking about cracking one open to play bf4. :)

Basically how many games out of 10 do you run into problems and are 64 player matches easy to find?

If you're asking for opinions on the PS4 version, then you're going to get opinions from those that brought the PS4 version...and those are the folks that will more likely than not be PS4 cheerleaders.

With that said, when I had the PS4, it was mainly for BF4. Outside of the initial days of issues, I didn't have issues playing. Performance wise, it was a mixed bag, with fps ranging from mid 40's (at least that's what it felt like) to pretty smooth. Experience was pretty good and relatively issue free for me....again, outside of the initial days when there were so many problems.

I sold my PS4, so I'm not sure what kind of issues are there now though, I'm assuming it should be better, and when I sold it, it was pretty good back then.

True, but I know the ones that aren't, you and several others are honest about it.

Thats good to know.

I haven't really had any issues playing it lately, no crashes or anything. I mainly just use the quick match thing to find conquest games though, haven't really played any of the other modes except a few rounds of rush early on.

I get booted seemingly once every 10 or so matches. There is also a sound bug that pops up in a couple of maps but that only lasts for the first couple of minutes of each match.

Other than that, I say go for it. The best PS4 game at launch, IMO.

I sold my PS4

For now, it just wasn't worth it. Nothing at launch that interested me, and I really just wanted to play BF4. I used the money instead to upgrade my pc, and rock BF4 at 1080p with all settings ultra...blowing away console with visuals and performance.

Maybe next year, I might get one for Destiny, depending on Destiny's reception.

I just got it yesterday and I haven't been booted yet. I'm a total noob and only tried 1 conquest match before I quit and went to play team death match. >.>

That's what I am saying Its good now after the update.

To the OP if you have both consoles get the PS4 version if you already own the X1 version...I am not sure I would trade up to the PS4 unless you get a good deal.

Multiplayer portion is not bad but i keep losing my saves every time. It gets annoying when i get the tutorial messages every damn time. Plus you can forget about playing the SP...lost my progres 4 times already.

is that pretty common? fvck that noise if so

The PS4 version runs great, but the 60fps they advertised is really 30-60fps (which is still leagues better than a locked 30fps). The main bugs I had gripes with are finally gone, and it runs great now.

Some quick advice from a fellow Battlefield noob...

1) Balls to the wall mentality is a must. Find cover and stick to it. I got pissed an embarrassing amount of times dying out in the open.

2) When enemies/friendlies shoot, they pop up on your radar for a few seconds. Use this to get most of your kills.

I guess that's about it. The first 5 - 10 hours I didn't follow 1 or 2 and I thought BF4 was severely overrated. Once I adjusted my play style things got a lot better.

Haha I will keep these things in mind. I was definitely getting frustrated just dying over and over. I'm trying to shake off the killzone playstyle

Ah, ok. I know you have always enjoyed the PC so it makes sense.

The pc version although better...doesn't blow away the ps4 version. ...unless of course a person was running it @4k.

Yes it does. If you don't run the higher textures or the wider field of view, then no.....but running the game totally on ultra at 1080p with high texture resolution and a wider field of view....., then it does blow it away.

That wider field of view with higher texture res along with a solid 60+ fps smakes me in the face on how different the game is. Using the default field of view with the texture res at 100%, not so much.

Lighting and textures are better....and yes, you do see more on screen with the higher field of view. Expand both together, and you'll see pc looking better.

By the way, I'm in no way bashing the PS4's visuals, and I myself said in the past the it looked fantastic and near pc....but the pc version is still much better. And even more so in action, where it's hard to capture in screens.

Hm, I thought I read somewhere that PC and PS4 use the same textures?

A better comparison would be the same spot comparing both the FOV and crispness of 1080p.

Would you like to do the honour? I'm personally interested in also seeing the difference. :)

Why not compare like and like? Those textures could possible be the same in that particular scene. But how did PC get brought up in this thread? lol
