New Halo confirmed for 2014?!?!!

This comes to no surprise, I can't wait to see what 343 has accomplished on new hardware. I'm sure they had access way earlier than others and hoping they deliver with a beautiful game. I guess I'll be jumping to the Xbox one sometime this year, plus Elder scrolls Online is another excuse.
 
All I can say is no Corinna Yu... so it will be mediocre at best.
 
This Halo better be good & less "marketed to pre-teens" or I might be done with Halo for good if this one isn't decent. H4 was the only decent one since Halo 2 & I question how MS has handled the series since Halo 2.
 
I will be pissed if they meant the TV show. I hope not.
 
Never been into Halo due to it's previous 30 fps blur filled gameplay. But if Halo runs crisp at 60 fps (which they said), plus no jaggies and blur, I'm in.

Man I can't ever tell the difference,lol, it could run at 1fps and I'd still probably play it. If your looking for strictly a good story check out 4, rent it.
 
You can definitely tell the difference between 60 FPS & 30 FPS. Think Call of Duty vs. Battlefield 3 last gen. The game just feels a lot slower at 30 FPS. Then if you dip below 30 FPS in games, you really notice it.
 
Honestly, I hope 343 can handle the bump to 60fps. That is going to change how the game is played.
Halo was designed with it's frame-rate in mind, to change it will alter how it feels completely. It will likely need to be totally rebalanced.
I am excited to see were the story goes. I bet we get some RPG-like progression as the chief evolves due to the actions of the librarian in H4. Love me some halo!

I agree about the 60FPS comment. Halo has always been 30FPS & that was part of how it handled. I don't know why all these other games had to copy a lot from Call of Duty lately. I get it, you evolve a bit with the times & CoD is the most successful FPS out there, but there were things that made those other games great. The way to beat CoD for Halo/Battlefield isn't to totally become CoD either.
 
I really hope they axe the CoDification of Halo. In my opinion, Halo stands out because it's pretty unique shooter in terms of physiques, speed, and overall style. Never played Halo 4, but it sounds to me like it went way too far down that path and the people reacted negatively toward it.

Heard the same thing. Not big on mp, but tue little I played on reach, and 4 I could tell a big difference. I've never played cod mp so I can't tell you if that was it or not.

Well i cant, but i also have a hard time noticing the diffrence in 1080vs720vsStandard.
 
The more I think about it, the more unlikely it will be halo 5. If it is, wouldn't they have shouted from the rooftop, "halo 5 coming in 2014!"

Only thing we can hope for is it is something related to halo that is meaningful.

They are following the same path as they did with 4, Its Halo 5. The only question for me is will there be a L.E. console made for it?

This gives me hope that halo 5 will turn out better.
 
343i just left an interesting wallpaper for the next halo game. I can't post it right now because I'm on my phone at the moment.

Staten isn't working on Halo, Frankie already confirmed it and Phil Spencer hinted that he might be working on something new or a "return" game.
 
This isn't coming to the 360 right? Hopefully it is XB1 only, I don't want it to get compromised so it can "work" on the 360...
 
They desperately need to return Halo to its original core formula that was in Halo CE and Halo 2, and somewhat in Halo 3 but from Reach to Halo 4, it completely got lost.

Original core formula is basic as hell, timed weapons and powerups on the map for pick up, players fight to control these items.../end. Nothing else needs to be added.

God forbid they adopt aim down the sights aiming mechanics.
 
Just hope it's better than 4, and not a continuation, no Promethians they were so dull to fight.

4 has the distinction of being the only Halo I couldn't be bothered to replay on Legendary.
