NFL Season Thread

I was really happy with Jacksonville's offseason. I can't wait for the next offseason to get here. :(

Clowning for Clowney?
My Raiders may be doing that too.

This weekend should be key then. Except that as godawful as the Jaguars' pass rush has been since, I dunno, 1999 or so, the fact that David Garrard has been the best QB the team's had in a decade is pretty bad too. And Gabbert and Henne are exceptionally bad but in different ways - Henne's the tease that may have a big game now and then and then follow it up with a bunch of boneheaded throws for picks, while Gabbert mixes the explosiveness of sideways passing with the completion percentage normally only seen for guys chucking it down the field blindly.

Neither team is expected to do much, i guess it will be a good measure for each other.
Pryor is a playmaker at QB, but he throws the ball up for grabs sometimes, i don't know if he's a long term answer.

Gonna be a long season for the Steelers and Steeler fans if they can't get their act together.:(

Whoever the losing team is in the Raider vs. Jacksonville game will be getting Clowney. Although he's looks rather ehhhhhhhhhhhh so far this season.

I think the Jaguars would take Bridgewater over Clowney. You can always piece together a decent pass rush with less than elite talent (though the Jaguars are miles away from decent at the position still), but if you don't have a QB you don't win in this league.

Mark Sanchez is reportedly out for the season.

Looks like it is officially Geno Smith's team.

I don't think the Jets are, according to ESPN, the worst team in the NFL. They STILL have a pretty solid defense and if they can get their running game going, they'll do well with that offensive line. The AFC East doesn't look incredibly strong either. I know the Pats will benefit from Gronkowski returning, but they really didn't look great on both sides of the football last Sunday.

I am not saying the Jets will win the division or anything but I don't think they're going to turn in a 2-14 season. I am comfortable in saying the Jets COULD win 7-8 games.

I know the Jets are targeted by the media (and usually rightfully so) and I am eager to see how this dynamic relationship between Rex Ryan, Geno, and Woody Johnson will play out.

The Raiders are my team as well.
Even though we will likely only win a few games, I'm glad that Pryor is getting a real shot to prove himself. He's exciting to watch despite the mistakes that come with it.

I'd rather Pryor have on the job training than see a check down passer that would get sacked 5 or 6 times a game and go three and out 75 percent of the time.

I think Darren McFadden is done. I hope he proves me so wrong though.

Should be a good game tonight Pats/Jets, after Sundays Pats game though I may need to keep some blood pressure pills handy...

The worst team in the NFL will always be the Suck-ders these days...They reminds me so much of my Bungles back in the days...Sigh.....90-2004 Bengals....Paper bag over the head. Been there, done that.

I agree, McFadden looks finished, i keep hoping he will spring back to life, it's like he's running in quicksand now.

13 - 3 and cruising in what has been a poor showing by both teams. Brady and the receivers have not been in sync, the rookies are struggling and to cap it off I actually feel sorry for Gino Smith he's found his receivers well to be fair but they can't seem to rain the ball in. A 'W' is a 'W' I suppose.

Impressed by CK and the 49ers week 1. The only weakness I see them having is their secondary mainly because they lost their 2nd best CB to injury and their pro bowl safety to free agency. Reid looks like he will be a beast, but he is also a rookie.

At this rate TDBanks (remember him?) will be a sad puppy indeed comes Jan. Patriots, at least today, seems down right human. Yeah, yeah, a great QB like Tom should and will give you a one upper against some teams...But without some good WR?.............I wonder how much letting Wes Welker walk will come back to hunt Bill and the gang....

As for the Jets...Well, as I've said, they are not the worst team in the NFL. That honor belongs to a certain silver and black team from Oakland (Perhaps moving to LA?). But man, they sure are close these days.........

After Mangold's hit at the end of this game and the hit on Smith at the end of the Jets' week 1 game, I can't be the only one hoping that one of these days, one of these "late hits out of bounds" that happens before a player actually is out of bounds causes a fumble for a turnover. The fun of seeing them try to explain that the fumble was a live ball (which it would be) and the hit that caused it has to be considered as after the play is over (as it would have to be for the penalty to be called) would put the time-twerking in Chrono Trigger to shame.

We'll find out who's worse this weekend. My Raiders Vs. the Jags.

Hopefully it will be a fun game to watch and not be incredibly ugly.

We'll find out Monday what they are all about. opening day was the worst game I have seen in a long time.

1. Against my Bengals. They got an ax to grind after letting the Bears out of the bag and lost. They are probably fuming right about now for letting that one slip away.

2. Steelers offense, O Line = ???????????????? all over the place, Bell is out, no WR to speak of, and add to that, three injuries during the opener.........Right about now, I'm thinking whether Ben can even stay on his feet!

3. And that O line is against probably the best front 4 defensive line in the league...Geno Atkins at DT, Michael Johnson on one side, Carlos Dunlap on the other......I'm sorry I'm looking at Geno and gang chasing Ben's hapless ass just about every play here!

4. Defense. Yeah, yeah. Guys like Paloumalu are still beasts. But Bengals offense have been upgraded greatly in the off season and the first game against the Titans, they had like one and half good quarter, then their age started to show. And that was against a so so Titan offense.... Now going up against Andy, AJ, Tyler, Jermaine, Gio, the Law Firm etc..........I'm sorry, Pitt's defense will be worn down by the end of 3rd at the most!

5. James Harrison. You KNOW he will be foaming at the mouth, just can't wait to say "WHADDUP" to Ben and the gang come game time!

All of those plus it's at Paul Brown = Bengals pulling away from the Squeelers by the end of the third if we play focused and not go down another "HEY!!! WEZZZAAA GONNA WINZZZ! Let's put the foot off the gas" syndrome like we did in Chicago. Sorry Pitts fans. But I'm looking at my Bengals sweeping you guys this year!

Hopefully it will be a fun game to watch and not be incredibly ugly.

Clearly, you have not met the Jacksonville Jaguars. You've got to put two bags over the heads of Jaguars games because the ugly leaks through the first by the end of halftime. To put this one in perspective, just consider that the Jaguars didn't move the ball beyond their own 36 yard line until their 14th offensive drive Sunday.

Time for Squeeler fans to suffer a bit as us Bungle fans suffered.....However, despite I'm kinda giddy at Squeeler fans suffering, even I don't wish the kind of suffering we suffered on the Steeler fans.....20+ years is WAAAYYYYY too long! No one should go through what we Bengal fans went through. That was beyond hell!

You'll never see the day where we suffer as much as a bengal fans. I guess we'll just have to live with 6 super bowl wins and 1 bad season. I wouldn't talk to much sh1t though as you just got beat by the bears.

Jaguars are far and away the worst team in the NFL.

Yeah yeah yeah. All I hear from Squeeler fans these days arer "OMG!!!! OMGGG!!!! We the got teh the of teh six the ringssszzz!!! You no teh talk cause we got.....the ringzzzz!!!!" and not much else! Yeah, we lost to the Bears, and the only reason we did was we took the foot off the gas during the late 3rd and 4th. Before then we were up by 11. Tell me, what else do you got right now that can beat the Bengals come Monday night, in cinci no less! Those six rings doesn't help you NOW any does it? The only reason I foresee how the Bengals will loose is they take the foot off the gas again during late in the game, the D Line goes to sleep and let Ben pass to anyone he wants. Otherwise, with a hole in the center due to a torn ACL to Center Maurkice Pouncey...Meaning Geno will have a hayday on the replacement, with the rest of the line equally happy at a Squeeler O Line that has ??????????????? all over the place, again, I'm foreseeing Bengal D having a field day happily chasing Ben all over the place. Hell, that pitiful Pitt's O Line already were pretty pitiful against the Titan's D! And that speaks a lot of volumn!

That's the only way Pitts will beat the Bengals these days, Ben and whatever he got for receivers have to play out of their minds, as in, completely out of this solar system minds, the O Line has to play beyond out of this galaxy minds in order to give him time to throw (Forget about the running game, there are none) and then the aging defense has to pray to the lord God on high that Andy and co. will turn the ball over at least 3 times in order to have a chance....That's a tall order.....Especially since the two teams are huge rivals against each other.

P.S. And first week, Bengals are the closest AFC N team that came closest to a win. Rat Birds...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Browns....They are the Browns, what do you expect. Squeelers.....More like s***tle in panttles OMGFBBQSAUCE AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Rat Birds at least got an excuse cause they were playing the Broncos...I mean Payton got a chip on his shoulder and it will not go away until he gets his ring. Bengals lost to a very good Bears team and they basically beat themselves starting late 3rd quarter. Squeelers? When you lost against the average Titans, at home no less....You got problems!

Nope. Suck-ders still are the worst team in the NFL these days. The Jags are a tad better IMO. Suck-ders just looks good cause of Terriel Pryor. Now, I'm an OSU alumni, but even I have to say, any other given time, Pryor at best should be only handling the clip board, and not much else! He only got the go cause the Suck-ders O Line is SSSOOO BAD (worse than even the Jags IMO, hence why they are at the bottom), it's actually making Pryor look good cause of his mobility! But once they meet a team that can handle the Read Option....I think the Suck-ders will be in for it!

But still, Jags are not much better...If these teams meet, I won't even pick a winner. It could go either way in a game of total suck-fest!
