Nintendo greatest System Ever Made = Thoughts.........

The SNES was good, but for its time, the original Nintendo conquered all.

It was my first true console experience as well, and I played it for years.

For a portable console, I have to give mad props to the Gameboy as well.

Hard to say... especially considering how we've seen the older games become more available on newer consoles. Maybe if you were talking purely about the library minus the ports, but what I loved about all three consoles is that they had ultimate variety and gave you generations worth of content one way or another. I mean, right on the xbox 360, I've managed to play games from the original Xbox, (S)NES, Genesis, old PC games, revival of the 2D genre, etc. I love 2D games, but it's hard to give the nod to 2D only consoles when we talk about best systems ever.

I think I'd be more inclined to agree if it weren't for all the ports to Wii, PS3, and 360.

I got introduced to the SNES first and to the NES second. Man I loved both but due to financial issues I was only allowed to pick one so I picked the SNES.

If I had to pick one right now as my all time favorite between the two I would say the SNES because it gave me the best childhood memories as a gamer but still the NES doesn't stay far behind.

SNES was definitely the system I had the most games for ever and I've been gaming since Atari 2600 and owned NES, SNES, N64, Xbox, Xbox 360 and now Xbox One.

SNES had the best Final Fantasy games, Super Mario World, DK Country, Super Mario Kart, etc, it was just amazing overall system.

Now Mario 64 for N64 was hands down an amazing game as well as Goldeneye, but I didn't own nearly as many games on it as I did SNES.

I would def. have to say the SNES for me. Loved so many games on that system, Super Metroid, SMW, Zelda, the FF, CT games, the list goes on. Truly gaming golden age...

SNES by a country mile. Seems like games on that system had alot more imagination/creativity in them than alot of its successors regardless of manufacturer.

Yeah, true. I felt like SNES was better too because there were just so many quality games for that time. I mean, Super NES came with Super Mario World. I still consider that one of the best Mario's ever made. I actually enjoyed it better than the ones on NES, even though those were nostalgic in their own right. I just thought the gameplay in Super Mario World was much more in-depth, it was genius for the time. The huge world map, the cape for flying, adding Yoshi in with the different abilities he had, it really opened up the game.

Yeah SMW is classic, and then towards the end of SNESs gen came Yoshis Island. That game is still my favorite 2D platformer.

No one has any love for the N64? I have to give it a shout out simply because it gave us the best game ever created: OoT.

I liked the N64, but Link To The Past for SNES is still my favorite Zelda game.

While Mario 64 was good and so was Mario World for the SNES, NO MARIO GAME can compare to Mario 3 which was/is the best game they ever Made.... Do your history people, Nintendo is simply the best.... SNES gets a strong close second as they continued the torch and had an EXCELLENT Controller + Street Fighter, but Nintendo (original) is King.

I've been a Nintendo fan since the age of 5 when i got my NES and i have loved every Nintendo console i've touched which is all of them but if i had to pick a favorite i'd go with the N64. Mostly just because of the timing. I remember getting one for my 11th birthday and having a blast that summer with Super Mario 64, Pilotwings 64, and Mario Kart 64 among many others. Playing GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark with friends? What a blast.

The SNES was amazing but the jump from 2d to 3d with the N64 just felt revolutionary to me and it was. I used to go to Walmart just to play Super Mario 64 before it was released. They had to kick me out of the store. I had so many Christmas mornings and birthdays to remember with that console. Getting new games like Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, and Banjo-Kazooie and playing them for hours on end. Zelda: Ocarina of Time anyone? Enough said. By far those were the golden age days of gaming for me. Nothing can match the excitement.

I have to agree. The NES rejuvenated a stale industry and it was FULL of innovation in gameplay. They did more with less then and I feel that without those limitations that at times we get pretty stale games.

Most definitely. I remember first firing up F-Zero and Pilotwings and being blown away!

Gotta say the SNES or N64 were my best experiences with Nintendo.

I'd throw PS2 into that as well.

The PS2 was awesome no doubt but it's games really just refined the new experiences that Playstation 1 games brought this industry.

Gran Turismo, FF VII, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Twisted Metal etc... People were literally playing 16 bit side scrollers before games like those.

N64 was one of the best because of 3D and what they were able to do, BUT people keep forgetting that it basically piggy backed off of the Snes --- > NES and in a way even the Genesis.

I feel Nintendo was the best console and had the best "fun" games when you think about the limited hardware they had. The industry was over and Nintendo brought it back. NO BOXING game can compete with the "FUN FACTOR" of "MIKE TYSON'S PUNCH OUT" Playing through the ranks in that game is better than ANY experience I had on any game on N64 or SNES.... This is a Classic

Who remembers pressing the Select button to use your super punch and in between rounds to get back energy (my buttons might be confused) but man this is Timeless...........

As much as I love Punchout on the NES, I like Super Punchout even more. That and Super Metroid are two SNES games that I go back and regularly play, awesome times!

whats the cheapest way you can play all the nes classics on your HDTV?

I liked Super Punch-Out even more. Some of the games that made SNES my favorite are SMW, Yoshis Island, Actraiser, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Secret Of Mana, Mario RPG, Super Metroid, the list goes on.
