Like the title says, I subscribe to no social media. Call me old fashion'd, behind the times whatever I just don't see the attraction. Anyone else do the same?

Me. No interest in it. I'm an introvert, so I don't like being always connected, having constant social input, etc. I find it annoying, especially because so much of it is just people typing out their ordinary, trivial thoughts. I've got enough of those of my own, I don't need to be listening to everyone else's too. I think they imagine they are much more interesting than they are.

I have a Facebook and it's okay I guess. I would much rather have a Twitter because it seems more fun. Also I've heard you become a better writer on Twitter because you got less characters to work with. And that is something I need/want to do.
The problem is that I don't have anything to tweet about. Gaming forums, youtube and so on is more than enough to exhaust me, hehe.

Or you become an abbreviated writer that looks like you're a texting teenager. It depends on which way you go.

Good point. My problem is that I take too long to get to the point. I make too long sentences but I also fall into the texting-teenager module, haha. :I

Speaking of social media, Google + scares me. I didn't realize so many of my things along with my Google search history all was in that profile. When I tried to delete it, it wanted to delete my YouTube too and my school intranet thingy because it's connected to Google+ through something called AppWriter Cloud! I think it's excessive to have that much info on you at once.

Adobe got something like 175 million accounts compromised last week. That's so bad. Bad bad! I don't trust the clouds anymore. Particularly the Chinese ones since I saw a thing on 60 Minutes with Huawaei (really big in mainland China). They are accused of spying on people through their broadband modules. Huawaei technology is in so many products!!

I don't bother with any of those sites. If you want to talk to me; call me. I still have an old flip phone without a text plan. At some point this year/early next I will upgrade me and my wife's phones.

I just use Facebook. Barely use it, but I do think it's important to have one. Oh and I also have a LinkedIn.

Definitely, it's actually turning into a problem. There have been a few articles in my local newspapers about children not learning/practicing proper grammar spelling. It's not just twitter though, it's also texting and any shortened media, it's almost like a form of digital shorthand.

Another problem with texting is that it can become a weapon. With my ex we both sort of used texting as a means of 1up'ing each other in the relationship. It became a sort of power struggle. If she felt ignored, she wouldnt reply to a text for a day, just because. And I did the same.
That kinda of crap really takes a toll on you. I never want to have a relationship like that again. If it's something important don't say it over a text. Call! misunderstandings, sarcasm, irony. Many of these things are hard to perceive. Even if they are clear there can be a million connotations to a sentence followed by a ":)".

When you call someone or have a face to face, you have to deal with a discussion at the moment. Sure you you can hang up up or go LALALALLA with your fingers in your ears, but with texting you get to choose your perfect reply.
I think a lot of social interaction is important on that you get caught off guard and catch other off guard. Being social is not supposed to be this prepared thing, because that ain't you. you can't be prepared if you have no agenda about who you are talking to. But that happens when you read a text, let it linger for a day and make some epic reply.

I subscribe to FB and Twitter. Both for different reasons. Neither are for me to express my thoughts. FB is to just keep tabs on old friends and family. I use Twitter for news and not so news. It's just a way for me to aggregate information that I'm interested in. I use NewsBlur for news articles, as well.

This is true. If girls reply to your text by saying "k" then sh1t just hit the fan.

No fb/twitter. No smartphone. Building a house with a landline. I do like gaming forums though.

Basically this. I still have a flip phone. No data plan. No texting.

I used to have Facebook but I got tired of it and deleted it. Eventually, I'm interested in finding a replacement for Gmail.

I do like forums though. I think they're a better format for discussing topics than the abbreviated format in social media.

Meh. I'm not using my facebook as much these days, Twitter even less, but it's nice to use. I simply treat it as a forum to a certain extent. Family doesn't exactly have Union accounts.

High five! Although I've occasionally thought about getting a twitter account, I've never used either that or facebook. And I never will use facebook.

For people who are like whole heartedly against fb, just curious as to why?

The biggest reason is comparing the FB Wall or Status posts with a Forum like Union here. I like how a thread discussion worth my time can get bumped back up if someone posts in it. On FB is seems like all Wall Post basically trickle down. I mean you might get some notice if someone posts in it but that's it.

Also, Facebook tends to lend itself to short-form communication. As if everyone begins to talk through Blurbs.

Then of course, election days come up and everyone gets in each other's face with their politics. Or every so often opinionated Religious stuff gets posted by someone and every religious person who sees it s***s bricks.

One thing I hate about fb is how people just like copy what everyone else is posting because it's cool for the day or week. No individuality.

Funny, but I actually shun all forms of social meda and still do...but at the same time I've been forced to accept it because its the only way I keep up with my favorite F1, SBK, and MotoGP racers given the fact they tend to active alot on them. Example being the fact Jorge Lorenzo(MotoGP rider) tend to be on FB and Google+ alot and interacting with his fans...
