No FB/Twitter/Social media, am I the only one?

I have FaceBook but don't use it much other than just keeping in contact with friends. I also have a Twitter account but not really sure why I created it. I only used it the day I created it and haven't tried it since. No idea what my password would be.

I've got an FB account I use to keep in touch with family for photos, messaging, etc.

Myspace - never use it
Twitter - I use it when I need an answer about something, i.e., tweeting Xboxsupport ;)
Linkedin - I have an account, I've yet to get anything out of it. I don't have time to "network" via Linkedin
Instagram - posted a few pics, mostly use it to post pics to facebook so family can see

I used to be heavily into social media in college because it was pretty much the best way to communicate with colleagues, but now I'm rarely on it.

I'll never understand those who constantly have to know what their friends are doing. It's like, live your damn life and stop worrying about others.

I need to know what my bffs are eating for breakfast!

I used to laugh at guys in college that would be on their laptops in the lecture halls reading facebook the entire time. Usually it's women who are the socialites on FB but guys are guilty of it too.

I just don't get why people feel this "need" to be connected to social media constantly. There was an article a short while ago I saw on a news site discussing social media's effects on people psychologically. It's become a tool for them to be liked. People that are addicted to social media want likes, they want to feel loved.

Even some of these Twitch people I've seen their streams, they get so engrossed into Twitch with their stream viewers, they psychologically create this fantasy land in their minds that they're liked.

I have FB and Twitter for one reason, game related contests. When something like "Win this $3000 PC" comes up and you have to like a FB page then tweet/retweet something I use them for that.

Stuff like that is the only reason I'd feel I'm "missing out" on social media

I don't use anything at all because it just leads to trouble anyway.

I have a Facebook account. A good friend of mine signed up for it a while back and basically wouldn't communicate any other way.

So I signed up, added a few friends, liked a few other pages and all was good. Facebook is actually a good way to keep in touch with people plus I liked getting feeds from game publishers for games I like.

Then one day, someone from my high school class sends me a friend request. I didn't know this person all that well, but what's the harm? I accept. I notice that she has 2500 friends. Well, this girl went around and tracked down everyone from our high school class and added them as a friend. Now it begins! I'm flooded with hundreds of friend requests from people I barely knew. People I barely spoke to back then now are suddenly flooding my feed with their kids, etc.

Now even keeping up with Facebook is a chore. I just gave up. I know I could clean things up, but I just gave up.

There's nothing wrong with Facebook, but it just gets used improperly. Don't even get me started on "awareness" campaigns. Let's all change our profile pic to a pink ribbon for cancer "awareness". Yeah, because a pink ribbon on a social media site is really going to help combat a deadly disease.

I dont have any of them, the only good reason for any of them is getting laid.Ohh and to look at how terrible and fat everyone from high school is.
