Maybe they should of went with RDNA 2.5 like the PS5 and then they would have the better versions of 3rd party games 😎

What RDNA 2.5 features are in these cross-gen games that makes it so, one might ask if one didn't know you were talking out of your ass.

Superior processing speed as unlike the XSX the PS5 actually meets the RDNA 2 spec and is well above what is required.

2230Ghz>>1825Ghz

Luckily the RDNA 4 bits that XSX has on top of RDNA 2 make it even more betterest.

MS won’t announce sales. It’s a company policy. So they were not doing damage control. It’s a fact that they were waiting for full RDNA 2. They didn’t want RDNA 1.5.

"We are extremely proud of the results gamers will see at launch from titles such as Gears 5, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5"

Sounds like these full RDNA 2 features are already in the launch games.

Sadly they were not :(

MS implies they are being used already from same article and that there will be further improvements in future. Check the bold.

I do want to talk about the notion of gaming shifting away from the hardware. You launched some hardware. You’re going to ship a lot [of hardware]. When do you make the decision to say, the development of the console is done, we’re moving on to figuring out how to manufacture a million of them and put them in stores and ship them?

It feels like it all happened yesterday, but that clearly isn’t the case.

Phil Spencer: No, no, no. We started manufacturing late summer. We were a little bit later than the competition, because we were waiting for some specific AMD technology in our chip.

Wasn't announced as complete until less than a month ago (Oct 2:cool::

A Closer Look at How Xbox Series X|S Integrates Full AMD RDNA 2 Architecture

We here at Team Xbox would like to congratulate and celebrate our amazing partners at AMD on today’s announcement of the Radeon RX 6000 Series of RDNA 2 GPUs.

Clearly not ready to be using the RDNA 2 tools to their fullest. Good thing, the generation just started.

Sounds like MS should have delayed their launch to 2021. If they made the decision to do that, they'd have better GDK, more time to manufacture. But I guess Sony forced their hand with all these surprises.

Both should have delayed. The PS5 reliability issues and both have a lack of games. Full RDNA 2 was still in the oven so Series X waited on that as well. They could have waited 6 months.

Meh there will always be issues at console launch no matter what. Xbox Series also have the issues. That's the risk you take with getting the console the earliest. I've been lucky to have no problems so far so I'm hoping the trend continues.

At least there are some exclusives out for the PS5. Granted I've already powered through them so looking forward to the multiplatforms now.

Xbox has exclusives out too, so that’s not a concern.

But yeah they both should have been delayed for more beta testing. Especially the PS5.

What exclusives? I'd like to know. Haven't heard much from that front. Are they indies?

Nah, PS5 launch is fine, biggest console launch ever. Launched with big name exclusives and also holding the edge in most next gen game titles.

This was the biggest console launch ever for Xbox as well. Holding the edge in most games in performance and loading.

Sadly PS only launched with DLC and a old 2009 game remastered.

Be sure to check out Microsoft’s AAA Gears Tactics. All new game for console, designed for next gen (of course on PC already) and ported down.

You're starting to sound like MS with their PR speak. The reality is PS had the bigger launch as evidenced by breaking their own PS4 record which was the biggest console launch ever.

I'm pretty sure those games that Xbox has an edge in you are talking about are the load times for old last gen games. We are in next gen now. You should look at next gen games to better gauge the comparison. Do you compare how the RTX 3080 and AMD 5000 series run on Bioshock 1? No, you look at newer and more recent games.

The only clear edge XSX has is DMC5 in 3 of the 4 modes. The rest of the next gen titles are either at parity or the PS5 has an advantage in as detailed in many comparison videos and articles including DF, which you have clearly stated multiple times you will wait for in the past. PS5 has the advantage in new next gen multiplatforms like Valhalla , COD, Dirt 5, Watch Dogs Legion (44% advantage in load time).

So MS only exclusive is an old tactical game released on PC in April 2020. Got it.

I thought you said next gen, but I think they're all games that are cross-gen. May be wrong because I don't care enough to look, but you can't really talk about next gen games until there are actually next-games.

You know what I mean. Next gen as in games that are released for the PS5 and XSX consoles (next gen consoles).

But you've listed Cross gen games so with that the following can be included for Xbox Series X/S as they have all had improvements to make them next gen,

Gears 5
Gears Tactics
The Falconer (not playable on Xbox One or One X)
Yakuza like a dragon(not on PS5 till next year)
Halo collection
Halo 5
Sea of thieves
Forza Horizon 4
Ori and the will of the Wisps
We happy Few

Not that it matters. Consoles are a couple weeks in. Several reports have already come out saying devs got final xbox kits much later than they got them for PS5.
Both consoles should be great for the people that bought them, console wars between gamers suck so much even MS and Sony make it clear how pointless they are.

I was purely talking about newly released games so anything after the new consoles launched. I could add all the last gen titles that had upgrades as well but this isn't about games that were released in the past. I'm talking about games that were being developed with the new hardware in mind.

But you're right on one thing, consoles are still new and this is just the beginning.
