Lmao, I'm pretty sure Nintendo is doing better then ever, Sony just need to find a way to make profit off all that revenue.
Gamepass subs have basically stalled for years but somehow, they are going to rise in an insane way over 10 years? He's also wrong about how people are reporting gold members as part of GP, MS never used to say how many xbox live members were gold vs silver they always just said subscribers.
They just came off of a rough generation where they sold less than 60 million consoles and a lot of the hardcore xbox live gold members would have already switched to GPU so it makes sense that converting the rest of gold to core would only raise it by 9 million.
I think there was a leak from the FTC or something too that showed in April of 2022 there were only 11.7 million xbox live gold subs. I'm guessing the majority of the GPU subs were the hardcore xbox audience who just switched from gold to GPU on their own before gold was phased out. That's why all of this talk about a lack of growth in the industry (not just xbox) is going on, they aren't creating new customers.

I honestly don't think Pachter follows the game stuff more than on a superficial level, he often uses outdated information or is going off of just chatter on social media. His job doesn't have him focused on the games industry he just talks about it so I think people assume he's more informed than he actually may be on some of this. Clearly he's doing something right in his work life or he wouldn't have been with that company for as long as he has been but he's wrong about gaming far more often than he's right.
People forget that a huge number of GamePass subscribers were signed up with the $1 deal. As those deals have expired they have been able to hold on to those subscribers or bring in new people at full price despite losing the $1 subs. Holding the number of subscribers could still mean substantial gains in revenue off of GP.
Where do I get my info? lol they stopped reporting numbers and Spencer said they hit a ceiling so that's just 2+2=4 then you have the 34 million number after they transferred gold members to GP, it's not hard to figure out lol. It's the same reason Sony doesn't give updates on numbers for subs anymore, if it was positive info they'd share it, when it's not growing or losing they are going to keep it quiet.
Pachter admitted he was wrong, I think he's going by really old info and never really bothered to check into it further. He's always come across like a pretty nice guy in general, tweeted back and forth with him a couple of times in the past, he's never rude and he will admit when he's wrong about something. I tried to make my tweet seem "friendlier" but I ran out of space lol.

That's nice of him, putting his ego down and admitting when he was wrong. The world would be a better place if we had more of that in the gaming community.
Yeah I cared so much it took 2 seconds to type out a response to him lol. I follow him on twitter anyway, not for the gaming stuff because he's never right about that anyway as this has proven yet again, he's actually pretty informative on other subjects.
You have one thing in common with him you are wrong most of the time too the difference is you never admit it, you just laugh at what people say if you disagree or attack them personally.
You are an odd duck, you act as if xbox is personal to you or something. I want it to be better than it is, I want it to be like it used to be, you seem to want it to be just whatever it is in the moment because you seem to think they can do no wrong. Respond if you wish, you are still on ignore so you won't hear anything back from me but you can continue to react with "laughs" all you want, it only makes you look more foolish.
Multiplayer, seasons long sports and live service games are played longer than single player one and done narrative games. Hold the press !
