In terms of selling half in same timeframe, that makes sense as the userbase is half of what the PS4 was at release of part 1. Plus, the PC port that may be coming will help as well as when more existing PS4 users who played the first upgrades to the PS5/pro.
True, but wasn’t remake a ps4 exclusive for seven months before the ps5 release (of the console itself, not version/port), and over 19 months for when it released on pc (with its port)?
Yeah and there was well over 100 million PS4's in 2020 when it released in April 2020. It took almost 3.5 years to sell over 7 million units on PS4/PS5 and PC.

PS4 was at over 100 million , did anyone say they weren't buying any games when SE didn't report numbers for the first after just announcing 3.5 million ?
3.5% of PS4 userbase vs 4% for the PS5 userbase if the over 2 million is true.
Instead of buying and playing exclusives,PS gamers too busy playing Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto.
Still small portion of the global sales. Around 320k in Japan alone vs over 2 million worldwide if the number is true. (2.23 million active users recently )

At the time of writing this Fallout 76 has more player interaction than Spider man, Miles Morales, God of War, Returnal, Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn combined on Steam... Just yesterday it hit almost 40k... An all-time high.
