The LMG are great suppressing weapons. Lie down and go full auto down a team contested corridor on corridor maps. You will start racking up suppression assist points, if not kills and kill assists.

I have found the DMR rifles all useless. Having a hard time unlocking those guns to see if there are any gems later on.

Yes, the last patch made the game playable again.

I think DMR's are useful, but only in specific circumstances. I find it very good for a sort of support role from a little bit outside a conflict. Say the big circular room on operation locker, the stairwell with the window, places like that. You'll have the accuracy of a sniper (roughly) with more ammo and a better fire rate, the gun's are perfectly suited to how I use it. With the fight mainly being on the ground, you can spot people from there (and other high positions) and get few kills easily. Always fun seeing the spot bonuses, suppression, and kill points rack up.

Pacing your shots to avoid lighting up like a christmas tree (topical!) and attracting a lot of attention helps too but that's not exclusive to the gun.

1 on 1 fighting on the other hand, I only ever succeed if I'm a ways outside their guns optimal range or I'm out of their view, where I like to stab em anyway.

the RFB is a good starter, in my experience. but none of that helps wanting to just use a different class of gun. whatever floats your boat.

I wish they'd make other classes more appealing cause it seems like everyone and his brother plays as an engineer.
When piloting helis or going tanking I almost always get killed by some knob in the bush right after I took out a couple of the other teams vehicles and my heath is low.
Damn opportunists. :p

True.

Me, I like going against the grain. In almost every match I play...there's obviously snipers, engineers, and assault (that never seems to want to drop meds or revive).....I've been going support, and I'm enjoying it. It seems pretty tough playing support as I don't rack up kills quick, but I get lot's of xp for dropping ammo, spotting, assists, etc.

this last patch seems to have fixed the issue I had with dying instantly. didn't get to play much (have to work early tomorrow) but it feels better so I'm hopeful.

Why can't I play the China Rising maps? I received a code when I purchased BF4, but it's saying I need to pay for it.

Yeah I'm finally playing after the patch (been too busy, as if this exposition is important) and it's not going well. Bought the stuff, but it's not going. "Server is running content you do not have"

sorta bummin me out.

I've had premium since week one and I cannot play the CR maps either. I can't even join a CR server regardless if it's running CR maps.

I keep getting a window that says I need to buy/install the expansion but I've had it since day 1. Not too worried though, the maps suck hard. I just hate the idea of being locked out of content I paid for and played before the Dec. 16th patch.

You mean like this? :D

Facing an issue with China Rising. I used my code and it says i have the game. But when i try and download it off PSN nothing happens. Doesn't get added to my downloads or anything.

Well there's a lot of news articles out saying China Rising isn't working for people. Go figure.

I went 53-9 on Metro yesterday using nothing but LSAT+V40 mini grenades, so it is possible to do well with LMG's.

One of my biggest complaints about this game is still that they give too much power to snipers. They one hit kill for a lot longer range now, they get claymores, they get C4, they can use a motion sensor with 40% bigger range, they can have a shotgun as a back-up...when will it end? It's almost turning sniping into Modern Warfare 2.

Instead, I feel snipers should get a "mini-charge" or the like. That would make more sense. Something that could disable a vehicle, but not kill it. The vehicle would already have to be damaged. Also, instead of a Claymore, why not give them something like a "trip wire." That would be a lot smarter. It would look like two poles at each end that you could shoot with a wire between it. You could obviously still put it up a ladder, but it wouldn't be lethal. It would simply set off a 5 second ping when somebody triggered it. Then decrease the range of the motion sensor slightly. 40% increase is a lot.

All it turns into in some gametypes (Domination especially) is a sniper going up top, closing a gate, (which why the heck did they make it so you can't reopen latches, that was a r******d decision) then sitting there the whole game a claymore/c4 & motion sensor.

I guess the real option to is to Airburst them, but we all know that doesn't always work out. I'm just offering some suggestions that would make the game more fun considering the vehicles in this game are a lot less fun than BF3 since almost everybody has C4 now, LAW's lock on so cheaply, other vehicles locking you, etc...they really need to balance it better.

Battlefield 4 does not let you hold grenades. How do you forget to fix that feature? :/

What do you mean? You can hold grenades just like you could in BF3. Just hold R Trigger + L Bumper at the same time. It's always been in there. Unless you're saying, "cook" grenades. That's done on purpose. They want you to use the Impact grenade for that really.

This dropped to page 3. That will not do. :txbmad:

I finally started using the CZ PDW as an engineer. That gun is pretty crazy up close, close to being completely worthless at range though. Almost not even worth bringing to your shoulder in most situations. Regardless, having some fun with it.

I really enjoy how many different worthwhile guns there are in both BF4 and BF3. I've hardly gotten any of the weapon specific "packs" because I keep switching over to new weapons. Need to focus on a few to get some of those final attachments, the flash hider would be really nice on the guns I use the most.

I somehow took out two scout choppers from the gunner seat of the tank yesterday. Even more crazy considering I always use proximity scan, so it's not like I can throw a massive amount of lead at them.

Don't get it twisted, u2p, most people hated metro, but...

If you wanted to quickly level up yourself, unlock weapon attachments or gadgets it was the best map for that. Just load into 64 player CQ with like 300% tickets and you could grind out a few things before the match was close to over.

Most played = most played

Pretending everyone playing it hated it, just because you did, makes no logical sense to me.

I gotta agree with this. Whether or not it was a good design for a map doesn't matter....gamers played them the most for a reason. Even if it was just to level up quicker. For better or for worse, the map is popular, and it's what the gamers want. The want tight close quarter maps to level up quick, and thus, developers give it to them.

How do you even level up guns in this game? I have no idea how to unlock stuff quickly but I'm tired of being stuck with ak47 -_-

Just use that gun & you get attachments for it. At some point you will start getting Battlepacks for the gun you are using too. If you want more guns, just keep using that type of gun/that class. You can play Domination too or Squad Deathmatch, that usually gets you kills faster since there's no vehicles & smaller maps.

Dice made a huge mistake not bringing back Noshahr Canals instead of Operation Firestorm. Who the hell wanted Operation Firestorm in the first place?

Yes! I've wanted Canals for Deathmatch ever since this game shipped. Although, with the 3 mini's you get now, that map might suck a bit more. Who knows. All the Conquest people wanted Firestorm since it had a lot of vehicles & DICE seems to listen to the Conquest people the most.

Regardless, there's rumors we might get a free map pack for all the troubles. It might be the announced map packs, but I keep hoping it would be another remade pack with Bazaar & Canals in it.

I think some of you don't know the amount of work the LMG's do. They are absolute widow makers. The PKP Pencheng shoots 7.62mm and yet has very little recoil, and does high damage and can be shot accurately at distance.

The LMG's are stronger than most people think, I get killed by them in the most ridiculous settings.

I love tagging along in a convoy helicopter with a ground-targeting Javelin rocket launcher and locking on to all the tanks below. It's the ultimate tank-sniping paradise.

Do DICE know about the queing issue in servers that have plenty of room and/or are empty?

People assume that LMGs are too tough to handle, so they simply don't bother. I'm loving them. I don't get as many kills with them, but it's more because I need to manage my burst better (I play on pc, and have a habit of just holding my finger on the mouse button), but they are solid weapons, I feel xp is accured quickly by dropping ammo, that every one uses.

The LMGs are great support weapons. Smart support players will setup with a bipod in choke point areas or areas where there's great lines of sight to provide cover fire. I used to deploy at the opening sandbags on Metro in BF3 and rained fire down on the attackers, it was great.

If more people actually played the classes' roles better, the overall community of the game and the experience would be amazing. Everyone pretty much runs n guns it these days no matter the class.
