It's weird hearing all these problems.

BF4 has been pretty perfect for me. I will occasionally get the sound bug and maybe 1 out of every 10 games I get booted halfway through the match. Other than that, the game runs flawlessly.

You're probably one of the select few, honestly. There have been issues all around. How much do you play as well? I notice the issues, but I play a ton as well. For instance, the last three days after these updates, they've been transitioning servers to different settings. During about three hours in the afternoon Eastern time almost none of the Server Browser & none of the Quick Match at all has been functioning. You almost can't play. I think it's just because servers are slowly applying the new patches/settings & it's only rolling out to empty servers first very slowly. I know Queues are finally being added, that started the last two days on Xbox One, so that's good. If you look for higher number servers now with Queues, they are the most consistent right now. (server numbers over 250,000 whereas before the servers were all in the 90,000-99,000 range...East Coast wise I'm talking)

I play on pc, and after upgrading my pc, I've had zero issues. Zero crashes and butter smooth performance.

Nice

Yeah, it has been running smooth for me the last three nights as well. No crashes. Really loving this game!

There's this douchebag named Subzero... something that seems to frequent the same servers as me. He always gets the antiair, sits deep in his spawn area and shots at every air vehicle using that stupid passive air rocket that doesn't give any lock on tones. He goes like 30 or 40 and 0 and its all I've ever seen him do.
God I want to smash his fuking face in.

I was reading about the problems X1 players were having with BF4. YIKES! DICE sent this game out to early on next gen.

I'm just happy that DICE are to busy fixing the game rather than messing with weapon balances like they did in BF3 that got quite annoying, you would learn how a weapon behaves and in the next patch it wouldn't be the same normally nerfed!

One of the new maps in China Rising is awesome I think its called Guilin Peaks, lovely graphics and terrain for all out warfare. You can only really play these maps in a squad though.

Funnily enough I was having very few issues on PC but after the last update I've crashed 3 times :( f***ing DICE cant you fix the game without breaking it more...Its still an awesome game though.

OK it's official, I suck at this game. At first I thought I just needed to rank up a bit but I am level 17 now and I still usually have a negative kill death and on objective game types at the bottom of the list for points or close to it. Not sure what I am doing wrong but for any skilled BF players can you give me some pointers that might help.

Play the objective, stick with and support your squad mates, be aware of your surroundings and what's going on. Pay attention to the minimap also. KD doesn't matter. W/L and score per minute are key.

I'm not a big fan of the lsat lmg due to its bullet spread in full auto...have you tried feathering the trigger for better accuracy? This really applies to all lmgs from my experience.

I think the phrase is fanning the trigger.

Feathering is only a hair thing as far as I recall.

But yeah, setting LMG's to automatic but firing single shots quickly does the job wonderfully. In general I can never seem to hit a thing with any LMG unless I do that or the bipod is down.

It's a term we use in motocross all the time, "feather the clutch". I don't see why it wouldn't apply to the "trigger" of a gun. You got the point anyway...

Ok I do feather the trigger but I guess the other players are just better than me. I think I have my cross hair on them but they still seem to get me even when I get the drop on them. :(

Alright, feather is a thing. disregarding me: in progress.

Heres a vid of the problems i had today, the first 3.

I only really saw about two of those as questionable, man. I mean some of the time they were using DMR's against you up close that you can shoot really fast. That SVD kills in three hits up close. Most of the time you were using LMG field upgrades that you only had the first field upgrade on at the time. You also have to consider they might have on Defensive or the like which has Cover/10% extra chest damage allowed. The LMG's have less Suppression in this game than BF3 unless you have the Suppression on & it's earned in the match. You're also side-stepping a lot. These LMG's are HORRIBLE for side-stepping. The bullets deviate a TON with LMG's in BF4 if you start side-stepping L/R. These LMG's were really made for bipods. A couple of them are manageable, but you're going to have to tame that recoil or stand still more while you shoot. It's hard to "untrain" yourself from L/R side-stepping after years of playing Halo & Call of Duty, but that's just how this game goes.

Take your LMG & go into an empty room with a cement wall then shoot it standing still then dump your clip into the wall in a different spot while strafing a lot. You'll clearly see these LMG's bullets' deviate/open up a ton. It's almost like a shotgun blast spraying out in all directions. lol.

I would like to add my name to the list of people having virtually no issues lately. I haven't had a single crash on PS4 since last Wednesday, and can't even remember the last time I had the sound issue happen.

Finally unlocked the mg3 last night, that thing is awesome! Having a fun time trying out a bunch of weapons I never touched when I was still unlocking guns. Lots of fun guns that work well in the game using different play styles.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Load up youtube in your internet browser
2. Do a search for RivalXFactor and/or LevelCapGaming
3. Watch their videos focusing on how to play (even the BF3 videos are still relevant)
4. ?
5. Watch your KDR and SPM rise significantly.

In BF lingo the terms are "burst" (3-7 rounds) and "microburst" (1-2 rounds). I've found that with LMGs it's really best to micro-burst any target that's more than 12 meters away, burst targets 6-12 meters away and full auto spray and pray anyone closer than 6 meters.

Move cover to cover keep scanning the area, look don't glance, Cover is your friend in this game. The game is mainly about angles so position your self so that you have a wide view whilst only showing a very small portion of your self, there are multiple paths to use in this game so always position your self accordingly, Use the lean feature it's useful. Don't camp in obvious spots. I guess your playing normal? use the minimap if skull and cross bones appearing near you and no red marker then it's a enemy with a suppressed gun.

Recon can be extremely effect, no! I'm not talking camping at the edge of the map with a sniper rifle. Use your PLD to laze targets on the ground for engineers, spot spot spot. spotting is something very few people do but it's one of the most effect tools you can give your team, lay down an TUGS near the objective and listen for the beeps even if there is no marker on the map but your TUGS is beeping then an enemy is nearby.

Squad up! Stick with your squad, If you can get a squad that communicate then you can dominate, keep chucking out med packs and resing, if your playing support lay down suppression fire keeping an enemy suppressed can turn the tide, if your an engineer repair your fellow tanks keeping amour going is very important if you're a gunner in a tank and come into battle hop out of the tank fire a rocket and then start repairing. If you squad leader tell your squad which objective to attack\defend by using the command(spot) button, you reap in more points and unlock your squad perks.

Burst fire your gun is just done by releasing the trigger after a few shots it increases your accuracy and you can mow down more enemy's in one clip then just spaying.

If you playing normal try hardcore. I play HC all the time whilst many will say it's easy mode but it isn't... no minimap, no orange triangles above your head (the most annoying thing about normal IMO), no health regen forcing to you work as a team and you reap more points by healing\repairing more.

Adept your loadouts to the battle, I'm always changing my loadout to suit the battle sometimes you don't need a repair tool but the enemy has a tank, use land mines instead.

KDR is pointless stat IMO I have an crap KDR but I'm always mid to high on the score broad..Why? Because I play the objective, give orders, help my team out by repairing amour, spotting and playing aggressively. If your going by stats use the SPM its much better IMO.

I hope that helps.

Good place to start here, the syndicate project on BF3 was very useful to me.

Edit:

Another good tip for dealing with amour is shoot them in the back, its the weakest point on any vehicle. One shot immobilizes the vehicle second shot will destroy it even if an engineer is repairing it.

:)

Game is much improved for me after yesterdays update. I had no chat issues, no dropped matches and smart match was working normally. Only problem now was finding a server that wasn't a lagged out nightmare.

Thanks for the tips guys! I have been playing allot 0f hardcore as it's my preferred mode. Game is allot of fun but I suspect my skill isn't quite there as even when I have a bead on a guy and pull the trigger first usually they turn around and kill me and then I see I didn't take any health off of them. Seems strange.

You will get better with experience my friend. I'm not sure on console if you have hit markers in HC... if you do always look for the markers, have you adjusted the sensitivity?

The best tip I ever was given was move and shoot, use the left analogue stick to aim (WASD\M on PC) and use the right analogue stick to make minor adjustments, most encounters you will have the other player will stand still when shooting, making you a more difficult target to hit and them easier.

Has anyone come across a gun\loadout they are fond off?

I got the AEK the other night and I'm loving it, it doesn't deal the most damage but makes up for it by having little recoil and a high rate of fire. Another favorite of mine is the AK5C that thing is like an assault rifle..Brilliant!

I haven't started ranking support\recon yet I normally work on engi\assault first then move onto the other two.

I haven't adjusted my sensitivity at all I am playing on XB1. Also I sometime engage the lean function but for the life of me I can't get it to do it hardly at all. Is KINECT looking at my movement? If so it's not working very well at all.

I find myself leaning towards the support class most of the time because with the other classes I get dominated most of the time. With support I can find a good spot and give support to my team mates but inevitably they move on and I left alone. I have tried recon and am using some DMR but I seem to get killed allot from guys using Assault class from medium to long range even if I get a bead on them first. Haven't used engineer class very much at all.

Question do you guys who are decent always aim for the head or body? I find this game compared to say halo or COD it much harder to aim for the head.

One last observation is the shotguns seem to have quite a long range to them.

The LMG are great suppressing weapons. Lie down and go full auto down a team contested corridor on corridor maps. You will start racking up suppression assist points, if not kills and kill assists.

I have found the DMR rifles all useless. Having a hard time unlocking those guns to see if there are any gems later on.

Yes, the last patch made the game playable again.

Try disabling kinect. Increase your sensitivity it will feel fast at first but after a couple of hours you will get use to it, and probably start improving.

Don't tie your self to one class use a variety, look at your squad are using and try to pick one that will help them\you the most. Assault is the best class IMO but the rest are very good. Try being an engineer next time. Its a pain to start off, the first gun feels like your shooting marshmallows lol. By using different classes you rank them up and the guns so you can use a mixture of them in different classes.

I've found a server that doesn't allow sniper\dmr and it's bliss.

When aiming it depends on the situation if I have time to aim it head\upper body always otherwise just dump your reticule on them and keep it there. If your in Very CQB spray and pray baby! :D

Yeh, DICE have never being good at balancing the shotguns, there's always one that acts like a sniper rifle or fires mini rockets(USAS 12 in BF3).

On floodzone I've setup shop on a balcony with an LMG and just laid down suppression fire across the firetops haha

Thanks for the tips.
Also the correct attachments make a world of difference. My favorite lmgs so far would be the m249. It's high rate of fire and 200 round capacitty makes it a great run and gun weapon or a good holding a choke point weapon. I ran stubby grip and muzzle break for my attachments. Made it shoot like a lazr.

The rpk is another good weapon for supporting. You unlock that when you become support master. My favorite weapon in the game so far is the acw-r which is a all class weapon. With a silencer and stubby grip on the weapon makes 20 and 0 games easy to obtain.
