Official Comic Book Thread

American Vampire is very enjoyable, have read about everything there is, now at the second cycle (that continues the original story).

Half price on many Dark horse comics at comixology (bottom of page) sow I picked up many Conan comics as well as Kull, also was some free comics on the sales side that I picked up.

Well I ended up canceling my pull list at my local store this past weekend. I just haven't read anything in several months after already being well behind. I hate to do it for a small business but hard to justify $50+ a month on stuff that just sits and collects dust.

That said, I still think about getting back into reading stuff and thinking about just sticking with collected editions. I feel like it's easier for me to just blast through several issues at once and be done with it for a while. I'm thinking of going digital just to not worry about the physical collection and taking up space.

For sure I want to continue reading Saga but also have a few others I'm interested in giving a shot.

If you read Marvel stuff, their Marvel Unlimited service is pretty solid value. The selection is about 6 months behind, but there's plenty to read. I've heard Comixology is planning on doing a monthly subscription service too, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while.

Well it didn't last long. I started browsing Comixology a couple days ago. I used them for a few one off issues I had missed so decided to check them out, mainly for Image stuff since I wanted to stick with Saga. Besides that, I also bought the first five issues of Five Ghosts and have a couple others that sound interesting that I may check out. Being digital will be nice as I can read them anywhere, anytime so maybe I can keep up to date a little better, and the upkeep of bagging comics and storing was a big time waster that I just don't have the time for right now.

My previous Marvel titles included Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men, Guardians, Nova, Moon Knight, and temporarily the solo Cyclops series. My issue with Marvel and somewhat with DC is the amount of crossover and event stuff. It's just way too much damn stuff to buy and keep up on. That said, out of all of those issues I really only want to continue reading Moon Knight, and the great thing about Marvel is their free digital copy I can read through the Marvel Sync on Comixology.

Yea, Marvel have been getting even more cross-over heavy lately. They've been doing major events every few months and the amount of crossovers is getting pretty silly. Their best comics over the past few years have been the ones that don't get involved with them, like Hawkeye, Moon Knight (especially the first 6 issues) and Ms. Marvel.
