Official Gamescom 2015 thread

You know how I love me some hot, juicy rumors!

Red Dead Redemption 2 To Be Announced At Gamescom Next Month

"Red Dead Redemption still remains one of the most epic Action, Adventures games of all time. Developed by Rockstar it was one of the best action adventure game ever made with immensely amazing story line, great freedom to roam around, extraordinary gameplay and memorable characters.

Rumors first circulated that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be revealed at E3 2015 but nothing such happened, but with Gamescom around the corner there can be a big reaveal from the franchise as the rumors suggest and Rockstar could finally fulfill our wishes. As Sony isn't attending the conference all our eyes would be on the Microsoft event and according to insiders the game would be revealed at Microsoft's Press Conference with other titles such as Crackdown, Scalebound and Quantum Break have already been confirmed to be making an appearance.

Xbox head, Phill Spencer has also been exited for the event and has said that Microsoft Press Conference at Gamescom will be equally as important as it was in E3. Gamecom would be held from 5August to 9th August.

It's a Rumor, would be great to get a sequel to the brilliant first game."

Please let this be true. Game of the generation last gen imo.

Agreed. And I don't want it exclusive to any platform....everyone should be able to play it (especially if it turns out as most of us expect it to).

Rollins, as usual good job on the news and rumour articles! Always interesting reads.

Solid list of games. X1 looks to be showcasing lots of big guns.

E3 said Recore is a 2016 game, yet no actual game footage at E3 or Gamescom. Me thinks the game seems destined to be 2017.

And I would be fine with that. All I want is some gameplay footage. A lot of us are just very hyped and curious about the concept of this game with the people at the helm for this. If they're not going to be at Gamescom with a playable demo they could release a gameplay video.

Gears 4 was at an early stage too at E3 but I'm really glad The Coalition showed us gameplay. I'm sure they can show us something for Recore considering the date spring 2016 was mentioned.

Recore is going to be a super disappointing game, I can smell it.

Small development team + Short dev cycle + Microsoft's unwillingness to show the public what it actually look like spells trouble.

I wouldn't be shocked if it's a 2d side scroller.

Ori is one of the best experiences on the Xbox One. While I'd prefer a bigger game in the Metroidvania category, a side-scroller isn't horrible news.

That said, there's very little information available in regards to the size of the team dedicated to writing code or other resources that MS will pour into the game. We don't know what engine they're using. If this comes out in Fall of 2016 or early 2017, it will have had an average development cycle.

I find your comments ironic considering how you thought the Shenmue 3 announcement contributed to Sony having the greatest E3 ever. At least there's some real money and a big publisher behind the project.

Recore is being made by Armature Studio. They're about 30 large and Recore already has a scheduled release date of Q1 2016. Inafune said, at E3, that the games been in development for 14 months up to that point.

So we actually do know a few things about the project.

With Regards to Shenmue 3, we actually don't know how much funding the game will receive and we don't know when it will release. Oh and it's one of the most beloved dormant franchises out there.

I'm a teacher.

We don't know anything about Recore. To say it's going to be a disappointment is premature at best.

And for the likes of me, I don't see how Shenmue is beloved.

MS is bullish on Recore. If not then it wouldn't of been like the second game shown at their e3 presentation. I'm pretty sure it followed Halo.

Possibly, but until the cake is made, nobody knows how it will taste.

However, there is one game I won't mention which had a big budget, 5 years of development and first party accommodations. But the cake they made was stale, complete with moldy frosting, rotten eggs, and an expiry date of Feb 20, 1886.

Here's what we actually know. Recore has a big publisher backing them. Shenmue can't get a publisher. We don't know if Shenmue 3 will get enough funding to become a real game.

Not showing a demo 14 to 15 month into development is not a sign that a game is in a bad place. If they're truly aiming for a two year development cycle, it doesn't make sense to spend development time on a vertical slice. Game demos are not a representation of where a project is in it's development.

@EDWSnip3down: I can't wait for the entire console world minds to be blown away with the @Halo announcements at Gamescom, I'm still reattaching mine atm

I know the guy is moody, but please don't eff up this relationship, MS (although this might just be pre-GC attention-seeking):

Scalebound: Hideki Kamiya Furious About Microsoft's Marketing For Gamescom 2015

http://www.gamepur.com/news/19725-sc...scom-2015.html
That's quite the click-bait title. I'm not sure where the "furious" is. That guy loves trolling people too, so it's tough to take his comments at surface value. I read a few others because of some other click-bait article, and again, it doesn't read as "angry". More annoyed because he doesn't think the art on the MS website communicates the game well enough. Says it looks generic so he doesn't like how it's being marketed.

Of course, MS has been pretty mum on it until Gamescom, so I wouldn't expect them to put any revealing imagery up until after the reveal.

So what is going to be THE big thing MS announces? Last year was Tomb Raider, E3 was backward compatibility, so this year?
