Hmm. I'm torn. I watch some videos of what people can do with the hotas setup in combat, especially the FA off/reverse combo, and it looks awesome, but not sure I want to buy an accessory that I'm only going to use for 1 game. Just not sure yet. I've been using my xbox one controller and it actually works quite well, especially once I figured out to bind yaw/roll toggle on the left stick click. It works great for regular flight and especially landing/takeoff, but advanced combat maneuvers are a little tricky. Will be curious to hear how you get on with the joystick.

I figured out that X-axis switching 3 days after I ordered the joystick, and yes, for that I already regret my purchase. Every gripe I had with difficulty are gone with it.

But then again the stick is only $20, it's just really cheap. And I also bought Star Citizen, so that means two games.

Elite has been catching up really fast these days, coming out of nowhere and suddenly getting even bigger than Star Citizen these days. Talk about having an established, talented team. I don't regret for a single moment on spending more than $200 for this game alone.
 


This video here is from whom I think is the best Elite player these days. His channel is full of stuffs like this. And if you know what I'm talking about, he does all of this with flight assist off.

The newsletter today had megatons about the next beta release (Sept 30th) and all of the features and new systems that will be included. I'm most excited about the exploration system. Gonna be awesome!
 
this game combined with Oculus Rift DK2 is the best gaming experience i ever had in my life and i been playing games since pac-man...
Its on totally different level playing this game in VR
And it will only get better with Oculus CV1 and beyond...
