Wish they had a version that came with a wireless adapter but it appears not for now. Oh well this is a good start.

Took them long enough. I'll probably buy a controller my current 360 one cuts out for no reason. It is a launch controller so I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has with how much I abuse it.

I'll stick with my X360 wireless adapter and controller.

So I've settled on my overclocks for the new components:

i5 4670k @ 4.3ghz (1.191vcore) - temps never go above 60 at load
Corsair Vengeance Pro Black 2x4GB DDR31866 @ DDR3-2200Mhz
GTX570 OC-ed the Core clock from 750 mhz -> 820mhz at same voltage. Temps never go above 60 as well so far.

Sounds good. Have you done any benchmarks for results? I am thinking about overclocking my 670 for the hell of it. I've read some good frame increases with this card.

You really should get a new GPU. If you're up to AMD stuff, I've seen R9 290's going on ebay for like 230 dollars used which is absolutely a steal. Since crypto mining is no longer profitable, all the miners are selling their AMD cards for practically nothing.

Not yet, but I've already doubled my FPS in SC2 just by upgrading these components so I'm happy. What benchmarks are good?

For sure upgrade your 670. I usually like to see how high I can go with stock voltage but you may like upping it to see how hard you can push it.

Haha, I just got a Wii U though and need to use the money for those games... maybe in the future. I like Nvidia too.

The uniengine is pretty good for benchmarking and the visuals are breathtaking. There's 4 benchmarks that you could try.

The good ole 8800gt, what z great card that was. I had the 9800gt back in the day which was just a rebadged 8800gt

Ok master race...I need some advice. I just bought a Geforce 760 2GB as an upgrade to my 560ti. I could have gotten a Radeon 270X 4GB for a similar price. Did I pick the right card? I haven't opened the box yet.

I wanted the 770. But I cheaped out. Plus I would have needed a new PSU.
I think this card should last me a year or so for my purposes.

You picked a good card.
What CPU are you running with?

My CPU fan is messing up and most of the time my PC sounds like a classic muscle car. I NEED to upgrade my cpu/mobo. I'm assuming i have to reinstall windows once i do, right?

I've also been searching for more info on the next gen Intel cpu's but so far i got nothing. Anybody can just give me an idea of when they'll be releasing?

A 760 is roughly equivalent to a 670, it's a great value Nvidia card.

Re-installing windows is entirely dependent on if you bought the OEM version when you built your rig or did you get the rig prebuilt with the OS already installed? Or did you buy the regular consumer version that comes with both the 32bit & 64bit versions? For that just pop in the disc when you are done building your rig and you are good to go.

Most of the time Microsoft (if you call and complain) they are pretty useful when getting your OS transferred to another mobo/PC even if you bought the OEM version.

As for CPU's well Devil's Canyon Intel CPU's are coming out later in the year and they promise a HUGE upgrade in efficiency and speed. Up to 5 ghz overclock with just air cooling apparently.

Can't wait till Nvidia's 8 series drops, I'll probably grab a 870GTX and make my 770GTX a phsyx card; much like I did with my 670GTX when I got the 770GTX.

Yea the 760 is pretty nice; if you can get a cheap 4GB variant you're golden for a while.

I wish I could have gotten the 4GB. Do you think the 2GB 760 is still a better card than the 4GB 270x?

Btw I just played Skyrim with Sharpshooter mod. Holy hell. So nice.

They are both similar in performance anyway, but with newer games the extra Vram may prove the better.

Damn. That's what I was afraid of. I should have went with my instinct. And better research.

Either way, I'm happy for now. I doubt I play anything over 1080P.

It is a bit hard to see right now. Until we get more games (based on the gen of consoles) we will not know just how much VRAM many are targeting. Things like textures, resolution, AA, and number of monitors all effect VRam usage. However, the power of the GPU/CPU is generally more important for keeping up FPS/performance levels. So in that regard your 760 is on par, if not a little better than the 270x.

Hehe.
Good stuff.
Gtx 760 will handle any mod on the Nexus, bar a few performance hungry ENBs.
