PES 2015 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and "additional formats" during the autumn and winter of 2014, Konami has announced.
The mantra this time around is "the pitch is ours". The game is a co-production between the main Tokyo-based PES Productions team and the recently-established Windsor-based team.
PES 2015 is the first game in the series for the PS4 and Xbox One and, according to Konami, the first full implementation of Kojima Productions' Fox engine in the PES franchise.
So, what was PES 2014, then? Konami said the Fox engine debuted in that game, which was built for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, "in embryonic form".
On to PES 2015. The shift to current gen means graphics for players, the crowd and stadiums are improved and benefit from a single source of real-time lightning, Konami said, so you see see the changing light throughout the course of a match. PES 2015 includes over 1000 players.
Now here's an interesting one. MyClub represents an "extensive" overhaul of Master League Online, and allows players and managers to be added using accumulated GP or via micro-transactions, which means spending real-world cash. This extends to offline play, Konami said.
In short, it means you can buy virtual players with real money. Unlike FIFA Ultimate Team, which sells players in packs of virtual cards, PES 2015's MyClub lets you buy players directly.
Like FIFA, though, PES 2015 includes weekly data updates that will adjust transfers and team lineups as they happen in the real world. Player data will also be updated based on performances each week. All this is applied to online modes and is optional within single-player.
And here's a nice idea: PES 2015 has adaptable match environments. You can tailor your stadium to suit your needs. So if your opponent prefers to play a passing game you can tell your groundsman not to cut the grass so short. Or you can have it watered to speed up your passing.

Shame there is nothing of importance mentioned here. I just hope to god that they sort out the animations so you are not stuck in them for an eternity. They also need to fix the Goal Keepers cause they are spanners in PES 14. Graphical touches are nice but much like racers they are the least of my concerns with sport franchises.

lol

Oddly enough that reminds me of another huge problem that needs to be addressed. The Refs are terrible. They do not know the rules. You shoulder barge fairly, free kick. Perfectly timed tackle and the whistle goes and a yellow card you receive. Can drive you bat-s*** crazy.

from this vide, keepers and animation loops look similar

I have no doubts that the keepers will be terrible again, they haven't got them right for years. It would be nice if they could actually cover the near post this year though.

PES 2014 was an unfinished mess when it released, but got a lot better with patches and DLC updates. They new engine felt a lot more solid and animations were improved, however, it was at the expense of responsiveness and smoothness. The biggest worry is if they launch too early again, they tried to get out before FIFA's release last year and it backfired horribly.

Konami are such a bunch of top ranked amateurs but I still love Pro Evo.

Why should I buy PES over Fifa? Just curious. PES hardly have a present here.

They play different.

Although FIFA is the superior total package for licenses (although not player likenesses) and is the best for online play.

I can't stand the way FIFA plays, though, feel so disconnected to the action happening on the pitch. It's hard to articulate or be specific about what it is but there is a directness and tactile feel to the way PES plays for me that captures the unpredictable nature and drama of real football. FIFA, by comparison, feels lifeless to me and about as much fun being asked to paint a fence then discovering it is five miles long.

PES demos are always bad. The patched version of PES 2014 is miles better than the demo, which has response times so bad you could drink your coffee between button presses.

Sample both, make your choice but if you mostly play online stick to FIFA.

in fifa it feels like you control a gravitational field around the player rather than the players themselves. pes is more tangible, but there are usually so many problems with the game that people who are interested just say "f*** it, at least fifa works"

konami skipped releasing a next-gen pes last year so they really have no excuses if this one is still broken. and i have my suspensions that they are probably still using last-gen as the lead platform and just giving next-gen versions a numbers bump

Think I only tried a PES demo otherwise never played a full version. So in PES they have player likeness but not their actual names or what?

They have player names but some leagues and teams are unlicenced (Premier League being the big one). There is an edit mode plus some quite amazing community option files out there that put kits, sponsors, leagues and names back in.

Is this any better than Fifa? I don't even play Fifa anymore. I need to pick it up on the cheap for the Xbox One. With the World Cup and all, it's time.

Well, Konami can't compete with EA. PES is always fun but always has a lot of quirks. Fifa looks amazing and the physics are great, but the AI is a joke. Like Troublegum says - Fifa has no personality. It is sterile. Every game is the same.

To answer the question "why buy PES?" - to support the game that pushes EA to be better. Just take a look at Madden to see what happens to EA sports games with no competition.

Well the new FIFA will crush this. Also without all the leagues and stadiums it means nothing.

Already pes already have missing stadiums because of a license issue.

So for those who are interested in PES but are perhaps apprehensive about the licences, here is the process on 360 for updating them. I use the Daymos option file as it is the best on 360, the end of the video shows the quality of the kits and logos created.

The default licences in the game are listed here - http://www.onlyproevolutions.com/2013/09/pes-2014-teams-list-revealed.html

Note, some more have been added with free DLC since that was posted.

Zavvi have the 360 version of PES 2014 for £9.98 at the moment - http://www.zavvi.com/games/platform...tm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=AffiliateWin

*ADVERTISEMENT ENDS*

Up until the 2nd or 3rd year into the 360/PS3 gen PES was miles better.

Oooh, yellow card ref.

PES 2008, 2009 and 2010 were really bad. Rigid, scripted, terrible AI, robot animations, no analogue control, the worst keepers ever, embarrassing pub band session music and were rightfully condemned as arcade sprint spam fests. You could kick off and hold down sprint with the fastest player, while the AI looked around aimlessly for God and score.

They started getting their s*** together at PES 2011 with a new passing system and slowing the game down from 'Benny Hill sketch' speed.

Just looking at the BPL. Some of the names are facepalming. A High school kid can come out with better name in 10 mins...

I can understand they do not have the licence, but at least put some effort in the names.

Also out of curiosity, did they used Player likeness (for the unlicenced ones)

Player likeness (at least for the most well known) is in as are real player names.

They keep them the same each year because everyone will spend 5 minutes editing them.

There are lots of reasons to choose one game over another, but with great option files out there the licensing shouldn't be one of them.

http://www.operationsports.com/foru...-gets-launch-demo-date-plus-feature-list.html

Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 has an initial release date slated for November 13. It's possible the US date will be either just before (11th) or just after (18th) this date, as US games don't typically release on Tuesday. We reached out to Konami for clarification on the release date.

Also, PES 2015 will also have a demo launching on September 17. Mario Götze of Bayern Munich will be gracing the cover of this year's game.

Here is the feature list for this year's game:

Key On-Field Advances:

Incredible Response Times: Lightning fast controls allows users to instinctively react to every movement when the ball is in play.
On The Ball Abilities: Take on defenders using each player’s bespoke dribbling skills, as opposed to relying on ‘trick’ moves. New skills include Close control, responsive sprint and incorporating a much wider range of pace – from walking to sprinting.
Case for Defense: Users have complete control over when to close down, tackle, or hold up play. Successful defending is based entirely on the decisions the user makes.

New Generation Highlights

Behavioral Patterns: PES 2015 now boasts a huge array of players that both look and play like their real-life counterparts. KONAMI has faithfully recreated over 1000 players this year, with bespoke animations and playing styles across its extensive player roster. Teams automatically adopt their real-life game plan, whether it is counter-attacking, out wide, or defensively minded. They run like they should, play the way they do in real life, and react emotionally as they would to fouls, goals or referee decisions – with their frame of mind actually affecting how they play!
Poetry in Motion: The individuality of the players is further enhanced with seamless animations. No sacrifice to animation has been made in the pursuit of fast response, yet the movements flow effortlessly calculated in real-time and dependent on the player’s position in relation to the ball and its speed. Player models themselves are also carefully enhanced.
Bring the Noise: PES 2015 mirrors the atmosphere of a top-flight match. The crowd animations have been hugely enhanced, and the ebb and flow of a match is met with context-sensitive crowd effects and movements.
Let There Be Light: All in-game elements from players to crowd and stadium now benefit from a single source of lighting naturally bringing the game to life.

PES ID Advances:

PES ID: Teams are set up to play as they do in real-life, while their star players will work within this framework, but will be instantly recognisable via their runs and playing styles. The world’s greatest teams will not just move and find space like they would in real life. They will defend or attack like them automatically
Realistic Abilities: While the world’s greatest players are indeed capable of moments of incredible skill, PES 2015 focuses on their abilities as a player and not their flicks and tricks. Beating a man using pace and close control is key to attacking play, and only those that can will get away with rainbow flicks will. And, even then, not every time…

All-New Modes:

myClub: Demanded by fans of the series, an extensive Master League Online overhaul allows players and managers to be added using accumulated GP points or via micro-transactions within club dealings. Agents are now used to meet player requirement criteria, while unhappy players can upset the balance of a side to detrimental effect. Team Sprit plays a key role, as the compatibility of the manager between the player, players with other teammates creates better teamwork impacted the on field performances
Live Updates: Weekly DLC updates will constantly update transfers and team line-ups across the English, French, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian leagues. Player data also updated based on current performances every week, so if a player is on a goal-scoring streak, his stats will be boosted accordingly in the update. Applied to online modes and optional within single-player mode
Adaptable Match Environments: A good manager knows how to give his side every advantage. As manager, players can request the grass be left long to slow down short play, or watered to suit a passing style. You can tailor any part of your stadia to suit your bespoke needs
Accurate Player Stats: The player parameter system for PES has been completely rebuilt, working with key community sites across the globe to create the most realistic player stats database.
Second Divisions Added: PES 2015 features the second tier leagues from England, Spain, Italy and France for the first time in the series, vastly expanding the database of upcoming players to scout
Role Control: Role Control allows three players to divide the defensive, midfield and attacking roles between them for more structured multi-player action. This new mode means players govern their selected area and adds a new cooperative slant to the game.
Real Managers: In a first, real managers will feature in PES 2015 across a number of European and Latin American sides.
New In-Game Currency: GP system integrated. Earned within new myClub mode and unlocked via in-game achievements
Unlimited Edit Modes: Stadium editor is back with the combination choices available for: Pitch patterns, Side line colours, Seat colours and Goal net design to build your own home pitch. Other edit options includes Manager Editor, new player editing options and base copies for all players. To compliment the return of Stadium Editor, new licensed stadia have been added. Aesthetic details include depth of colour and worn patches to the pitch
Presentation Overhaul: Simpler, more effective menu system. PES 2015 also remembers your preferred modes for quicker access.

Online Modes:

QuickMatch: Simpler ranking match-ups to speed up online games.
Online Divisions : Accrue points in online matches across a season to aim for a promotion or face delegation.
Dedicated 11v11 Lobbies: Makes large-scale multi-player games more fluid and easy to set up.
Cheat Measures: New courtesy system introduced to reduce online cheating.

Additional Improvements:

Master League: Revised structure for player growth, transfers, managers and auto-match settings. New cut-scenes and National Super Cups implemented.
Become A Legend: Training modes enhanced, specific BaL match simulations, new transfer and recruitment systems, including a second tier league.
Weather: Rain has been implemented.
Licensed Soundtrack: Featuring Cold War Kids , Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons and Avicii

Looks smoother at least. The physics aren't as good as Fifa, that's where they always seem to fall short. It still looks like ping pong.

I always laugh that the NHL game comes out before training camp even starts, but football/soccer ones are later.
