That and feature parity. If a company sees someone do something that customers like, it's a no brainer that they should at the very least match the competition. It's a lovely way to keep the improvements and a higher standard gameplay experience. "Copy " away, I say!Absolutely not. When Microsoft got achievements, it INSPIRED Sony's trophy system. When Sony got PS Now, it INSPIRED XCloud. It's petty bickering is all it is
The OG FAT PS3 was the only legit console with true BC on 99% of PS1 / PS2 (2 generations) games day 1.
I don't think Nintendo has ever done two generations of BC games.
GBA -> GB
DS-> GBA
3DS -> DS
Wii -> GC
Wii U -> Wii
Switch -> None
I'm Still rocking my KS-8500 65" curved Samsung from 2016. Still a great TV and too good to replace. Payed 2500 for it when it came out.I've learned my lesson with buying expensive TV sets. 3 different sets in a row all died just after the extended warranties I bought. I buy a cheaper model, it lasts a long time for some reason...
I've always liked BC, and was really annoyed when they removed it from the PS3 (i bought one after they removed it ).I agree that Microsoft deserves lots of praise for how they handled BC but I just want to know where all these people on this forum were when the gen started and only Nintendo was doing it.
Lmao it's true. You just don't how much I come across gamers thinking their Xbox One can play all 360 and original Xbox games. I just saw "Jinca" corrected someone at this forum letting him/her that it doesn't do that.
MS bc is half-assed. Begging for a game to have it BC and then knowing BC games required internet so you can download the neccesary data to be able to play it lol. That's extremely poor design by MS and better not be the same in Xbox Series X. I want all BC games to work day 1 like the fist gen PS3 was.
Also have you try playing Silent Hill HD Collection on the Xbox One. It's on the BC list but the game suffers major performance issues and looks way worser than the PS2 version. Ive been waiting like years for the game to receive with any updates to get it fixed.
I bet it won't be supported simply because they want devs to use the DS5 features. Sucks tho. I like the idea of not having to buy new peripherals when my current ones work perfectly well (s*** internal battery not withstanding).
That said, I DO like a good rumble feature and I have respect for Sony still trying to add features to controllers- Unlike MS who should at the very least get in on having an internal accelerometer. I also really like the idea of trigger resistance. Probably death on batteries though, and I'm really afraid of what it will cost.
It would definitely affect the battery life, which might be why Microsoft hasn't included much in the controller to begin with. But it's interesting how the battery life in Sony's controller is always bring criticized for being too short when it houses like eight different hardware features in it compared to it's rival.

There is no way some AA batteries would be sufficient enough for a pad as advance as it is. If all you have to worry about is rumble, then of course the battery life is going to be great, but at what cost to gaming is the real question people should be asking themselves. It doesn't make sense.
I hope it's not another MMO.

It's not MS fault someone thinks all games are BC there's always been a list that gets upgraded, I've never seen them say or insinuate they will all work.
How much data do you really need to play? Granted you have to download the game even if you have the disc but unless you literally don't have internet I don't see how that can be such an issue?
That does suck the silent hill games aren't optimised enough, but for the most part they perform pretty damn well and in a lot of cases better.
Anyway sorry for going off topic, woohoo PS5!
The battery life on the early models was completely horrendous. I would have taken AA any day of the week because at least they can be quickly replaced.
Aren’t the batteries in the ps4 rated at 1000 mAh?
Some cheap rechargeable ones are up to 2000 mAh

I got these...

Not every model. I think only the MGS4 bundle had full hardware back compatibility.PS3 played ps1/2 games in 1080p as well.
I think that had a lot to do with Sony being on a very strict budget after coming off the PS3 debacle. Even still, i think it would have been hell to use replaceable batteries in its place.
Models out before that bundle had BC.Not every model. I think only the MGS4 bundle had full hardware back compatibility.

That's gooooood. I didn't like curved TV sets when I saw them, but a smaller monitor might not have been bad for my own use.I'm Still rocking my KS-8500 65" curved Samsung from 2016. Still a great TV and too good to replace. Payed 2500 for it when it came out.
mid it’s a timed exclusive mmo then I’m ok with it

Lol wtf are you rambling aboutPerform pretty damn well and a lot better? Silent Hill HD Collection runs s***ty on the Xbox One. Have you try playing SH2 on the Xbox One? Dude it's awful and a completely broken game. I remembered playing it years ago and the first boss didn't show up. I was like WTF. Game is a messed, nothing but bugs and freezes.
I still think it's MS fault. Past Nintendo and Sony systems were full BC. Casual gamers are going to assume all Xbox 360 / Xbox will work on it. MS started it with that nonsense and should have been cleared with their message from the getgo.
A year ago I sold an original Xbox factory sealed copy of "Dukes of Hazzard Return of the General Lee" from my personal collection for $75 on Amazon. And guess what, the buyer returned it because it didn't work on their Xbox 360 or Xbox One. The buyer reason was I thought it was backward compatible. Amazon sided with the buyer and refunded the total amount. Now the returned game I have is used and worthless.
MS stated Xbox series X plays will play all Xbox One day one. You better hope so or else it would be false advertisement, and grounds for a lawsuit. They are advertising it being able to do that.
Lol wtf are you rambling about
No, no one does lolYou duh thinking the Xbox One is full BC on all 360 and original xbox titles with no internet required

You are correct, though it looks like it stopped with that 80 gb model.Models out before that bundle had BC.
It launched with it.
Widely considered the best console.*drops link then runs away*
Let's review every game in the PS2's infamously bad Y2K launch library
Sony's PlayStation 2 launched in October of 2000 with massive hype, massive demand, and one of the most massively awful sets of "exclusive" games ever saddled on a console.games.avclub.com

I couldn't get a wave 1 shipment PS2 and I tried real hard.Tekken Tag Tournament, Ridge Racer V, SSX, Smuggler's Run, Time Splitters and Midnight Club were all good games for their time. The rest of that list is extremely crappy.
