they should just sell their film division already, stick to just supplying the tools (cameras, speakers, headsets, etc) for artist and make PlayStation their primary focus...besides spiderman into the spiderverse has their been any memorable and at least good film produced in the last decade?
Considering who they supported talking the role of Robert Langdon, I hope they burn in hell.

But, I'm guessing this might be reasons to continue;

Revenue
Increase
US$9.133 billion (FY2017)
Operating income
Increase
US$376 million (FY2017)
Number of employees9,500 (2019

It matters.

Just about everyone on this site is probably going to need external storage for either console, 1TB wouldn't be enough even if they had been able to hit that mark. I am sure you have an external SSD, you'll be able to fit plenty of games to on the internal SSD in the PS5, unless games double in size you are probably going to get a good 15 games on the internal storage at one time, just put everything else on the external drive and move it over if you want to play it. Like I said before I have over 46 games loaded on my external 2TB SSD and that still leaves a ton of games I own not downloaded because I couldn't afford and SSD big enough to fit everything I have purchased over the years, hell I don't know if they make SSD's that big.

Personally I'd take the benefits of the SSD they've designed with smaller storage over something much larger with no customizations. Before anyone gets defensive I'm not talking about the Series X, that SSD isn't big enough for most people either and they have done some customizations with it. I'm talking in general about people who wanted 2TB SSD's or larger in these machines.

XSX has not only more storage but a extra storage option.

If you are talking about the external SSD, i would wait on the price first. History has shown that anything proprietary significantly increases the cost. The detachable HDD in the Xbox 360 is proof of this just as much as the memory sticks in the PS1, PS2, PSP UMD disc, Nintendo's cartridges, etc..

I will need space asap.
Sony needs to have it's solution ready by launch as it seems MS will.
Less than 800gb isn't going to be close to enough.

This isn’t an option I care about, but in case some people do:

I never expected the PS5 to have BC between the PS1, PS2 and PS3. Based on Sony's patent, this can only be achieved via cloud servers. So if Sony decides to use that patent, you will be paying a small fee to have access to this catelog.

That may be true, but if you are looking for an SSD for that solution, i assure you you're going to be paying a bit no matter who you decide to go with, but I'm almost certain a proprietary version will be more expensive than an off the shelf SSD.

f*** the fee

It's not for everyone.

I, personally, like the idea since I'm not much of a hoarder when it comes to collecting old consoles and games. I also don't have to go hunting all these games down and purchasing them just to play them for a few hours

Although DualSense will allow for more realistic game experiences, creators will also need more time and know-how to create high-quality vibrations. To reduce this burden, we have created a haptic vibration waveform design environment that anyone can use easily. In this way, we have not only developed a tool that allows game creators to design an impactful, natural and comfortable vibration waveform in fewer steps but also created a method of almost automatically generating vibration patterns from a game’s sound effects.

The focus of our development was deep neural network technology, but the problem was that there were few past studies that applied this technology to the sense of touch rather than to images and sounds. In the beginning, we spent many days just agonizing over the data. Later, we studied and examined different algorithms while getting advice from experts. This allowed us to automate the generation of high-quality vibration waveforms to a certain extent, making it look as if they were created manually by the creators.

even when they’re not proprietary and just have a ps/Xbox logo on them you pay an extra fee to have said logo on there

The "more storage" is pretty nominal, it's not going to make a big difference. As far as external options yeah you buy an external proprietary SSD that will probably be pretty pricey. Sony has an external option too, use an external HDD or SSD for storage, you can play BC PS4 games directly from that OR transfer them to the internal storage where they'll benefit from the faster SSD. Obviously PS5 games have to be played off of the internal storage but I'm sure you can still store them on the external drive and just transfer them back and forth.

??????? Has is it nominal?
More storage is a must and you don't want to delete and install over and over as it kills the life of a SSD.

They've already talked about the downloading/deleting stuff from the SSD, you won't be doing that anywhere near as much on your console as you would on a PC even if you add/remove games on a semi regular basis. Again how often in a real world situation do you see yourself needing more than 15 games ready to go at once?

As far as what I was saying was nominal I meant that Series X isn't going to have that much more available storage than the PS5, probably like 3 or 4 games worth. The bottom line is you and I both know you would never get enough storage in either of these consoles because they are using SSD's and 1TB is the max that they could put in and still keep it at a price people would be wiling to pay. I'd much rather have the extra performance that Sony has baked into their SSD than get something significantly slower that has room for a few more games. We both own a lot of games, there is no way around the fact that we are going to need external storage no matter which console we choose.

3 or 4 more games is pretty significant, but I doubt 1tb will be enough for a lot of people and there'll be a lot of moving and deleting and what not with both consoles.

Remember we're making a huge step in terms of HDD speed this gen, we're gonna love near instant load times from both consoles. I'd love to see a side by side comparison just to see how big a difference the raw bandwidth speed is going to be, but Xbox apparently has some software to try and close that gap, I guess time will tell the difference in the console and their strengths (just bloody show us already)!!

I'd much rather have the extra speed than being able to store a couple of extra games when I'm still going to need external storage regardless. Xbox Series X's ssd will be better than a standard SSD thrown in a PC with no extra attention given to it and PS5's SSD will be better than the one in the xbox. When you are talking a few games difference let's say 15 games on one console vs 18/19 on the other that's really not a significant difference, nobody really plays that many games in the same time frame anyway. I have over 46 on my SSD and I probably play no more than 5 of them within a months time, many of them haven't been played in over a year.

I know some people wrongly think the PS5 SSD size (as opposed to 1TB) was chosen to be cheaper but they've explained that it came out that way due to the customizations they've done and basically if they wanted to increase the size of the included drive they'd have to double the size of the SSD to be 1.6TB which would end up being too expensive. Yeah we can put our own NVME SSD in after Sony confirms each one but those are still going to be so expensive I think people will more than likely just use cheaper external drives for storage only and moves games around.

Did you post your source where you heard about the OS using 2 GB of ram or is it just a rumour?
Are we not to discuss any rumours anymore about the consoles or games? The rumours have come from Playstation fans on Twitter. The sources are linked in the video.

No one saying it’s true or verified, just a rumour like the rumour you heard about the OS requiring 2 GB of ram? Are only rumours allowed to be discussed that you like?

Less than 1TB of storage is a joke in this day and age.

I agree. I even think less than 2TB is a joke IMO. But then again, I know how expensive these new SSDs are, so 2TB would be a pipe dream.

Meh, better buying your own SSD of choice and size imo. I honestly can't see why the critique tbh, it's been like this since 2013 and then it even started at 500gb.
I have scorpio 1tb + 2tb external and I can fill them pretty fast if I'm not picky, so even if they give me 2tb it wouldn't be enough.
