Seems like Sony's got some serious supply issues, kinda odd they didn't decide to just launch later. Feeling like this is going to be like the original Wii again, months and months before most people can actually find one.

The supply would have to be crazy low to justify launching later. I don't think there would be much of a benefit.

That’s not all! We take full-advantage of other next-generation PlayStation features like near-instant loading (don’t worry, you can turn back on those humorous fast-travel animations if you miss them), Spatial 3D Audio on compatible headphones, and the revolutionary DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. We’ve also brought new photo mode features to the game that we developed for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: you can now place lights in the environment and change your Spider-Suit after you’ve lined up your shot!

Oh, speaking of Spider Suits… here you go:

That’s right, The Amazing Suit has arrived as one of three new suits in the game. It’s the perfect suit to wear as you attempt to earn the Platinum trophy in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered.

Basically put, BRAND NEW POWERS for new suits. I'm sold! :)

  • Stunning visuals: Marvel at rendering quality through ray tracing, with support for 4K, HDR, and a targetd 60 FPS frame rate.*
  • Fast loading: Go to race events quickly, gather in lobbies and receive friend invites extremely quickly with an ultra-high speed SSD. Select from a huge variety of cars with no load times.
  • Adaptive triggers: Feel the contrast in brake pedal weight at different sensitivity ranges, the vibrations from the ABS and variation in throttle pedal weight on different types of cars.
  • Haptic feedback: Experience the feeling of tire contact with the road, and subtle bumps on the road surface.
  • Tempest 3D AudioTech: Sense the position of other cars and drivers around you through sound. Hear clear 3D Audio positioning and spatial expression of depth and height in replays

The hell did they do to Peter's face?

"This does bring us to one of the bigger changes. In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel’s Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri’s moving performances take on a new life."

It wasn't a simple port. It's a remaster of the old game. That explains the new powers adaptive triggers and haptics

Considering how limited preorder quantities have already been, and that many retailers are pushing their shipping window back to 2021, I'd think "crazy low" would be an apt description.

Which is also a commentary on demand. Safe to say the supply isn't high but places being sold out or taking too many preorders doesn't really tell us that much about its overall numbers.

Amazon took more PS5 preorders than Xbox preorders at least in most countries so I do question whether crazy low is accurate or at least accurate enough that it shouldn't be released.

The Pathless, from the Abzû team, will be a PS5 launch title

The Pathless was first announced at the The Game Awards in 2018, and was originally intended for a 2019 release. It has since been delayed, which lined its release window up with the transition to PS5. The Pathless will simultaneously launch with the PS4 version on Nov. 12, too.

maybe MS can solve their issue and stream games via azure

Famitsu: We were also surprised when we heard that it will have 99% compatibility with PS4 titles. By the way, will there be compatibility with PS1, PS2, and PS3 titles?

Jim Ryan: We keep in mind the engineering specialized for the PS5, as we produced the device. In the midst of that, the PS4 already has 100 million players; we thought they ought to want to play PS4 titles on the PS5 as well indeed, so we included compatibility with the PS4. While implementing that, we also focused our efforts on taking in the high-speed SSD and the new controller DualSense at the same time. So, unfortunately, we couldn’t reach the implementation of such compatibilities.
