According to the latest information that our editorial staff received, directly from Sony, PS5 won't support native resolution of 1440p, a resolution that's inconsequential for most gamers, but very dear to PC gamers.

4K TV here but if someone is playing this on the 1440p monitor, he would just set it to 4K and the picture would still look crisp, no?

I think so. I think it's downsampled, making the picture nice and tight. Sure, it would be nice to have 1440p, but I am sure there is a reason they didn't. I assume it could be patched in later if there was demand.

That's what I'm thinking, since I watch 4K videos all the time on my 1080p monitor and it looks nice and crisp enough, the same would probably apply to those 1440p native monitors.

Just give me inverted control options like the 360 did and I'll buy a ps5 tomorrow.
I never used to use inverted controls but this past year I've started doing it and now I make sure to change that setting in every game at the start. It would be nice to have that done at the system level.

360 had this along with options for predetermined car view in games at system level... Or was it og Xbox...? It was a great feature, don't understand why they didn't continue this tbh

Probably being enclosed in those plastic cases and I be whatever fan they had (I can't imagine they wouldn't) on the display died. Ventilation will be a must for these machines.

true, but what if it’s just playing a video on demo mode, if it’s I doubt that’s putting any strain on the gpu/cpu

At least it’s on a Sony TV.

Maybe the port overheats?
They told us in March it would probably be a little after launch before they knew which ones would be compatible and to wait on buying one, did nobody listen? this isn't news LOL. I'm not trying to nag you about this so I hope it doesn't sound that way but they already told us they had to test them and there are only one or two currently on the market that even meet the standard.

Yep and they are left on all day.

Wasn't expecting a 80+ for a free bundled game. Awesome news.

You can't charge a PS5 controller while using it?! If the battery life is as abysmal as PS4 controllers, this is going to be crazy annoying.

That would be weird if true. Usually you can just plug in the cable while playing just like how the DS4 does it.
The person who posted it (EvilBoris) already seems to have deleted it, so hopefully it's not true! He's usually pretty reliable, does HDR analysis and calibration videos for Digital Foundry and HDTV Test.
