For anyone wanting to invert the controls for Astro's Playroom. Go the the Game Data and App/Settings and under Game Presets you can invert universally there and it will work for Astro's Playroom.

Yes and this will also invert the controls for all games that support it as well, neat little trick. Rise up, all inverters!

Well tried Walmart, I couldn't have gone any faster. Had my information all saved, it literally took me 5 seconds to check out. Sold Out.

Its not worth the trouble at this point.

Initially refreshed right when the countdown got to 0 and it said sold out lmao. Refreshed a few seconds later and was able to put it in my cart. On laptop I got stuck in infinite captcha loop and phone just errored. Laptop cart was broke. On phone I eventually got to the choose address screen but just errors before eventually going out of stock. I did see in my cart it said order soon 2 left which I thought was hilarious.

All I'd like at this point is the ability to get in line for an order at PS Direct. Like I don't care if it doesn't deliver until end of December or beyond. Just let me GIVE YOU MONIES to not have to worry about trying to refresh a website at the right time during the day.

Yeah, it sucks. I sadly assume it will be like this for months and months. If a vaccine is approved / released early next year, it's going to be even worse with enormous portions of the logistics industry world wide being tied up to distribution of the vaccine.

I too wish we could do an Apply style preorder, just put in an order directly with the company making it, it comes when it comes.

Got in the Direct queue before Nowinstock updated so maybe good. But seems like it was up even 5-10 minutes prior to finding it up.

I set that up right away, so far the only game that hasn't supported that is watch dogs legion, you still have to do it in the game menu there.

PS4 as well so parity could hamper it.

Yeah as long as the PS4 is in the picture it's going to impact game design, that doesn't mean they can't make the game look a hell of a lot better on PS5 but things like flying mounts may not be possible until they boot the PS4 out of the way. Of course I'd be fine with them giving the PS5 some exclusive features but they don't operate like that.

Good luck to anyone trying to get a PS5. They're like gold dust right now in the UK and probably world.

TLDR; Memory runs a bit hot but cpu/GPU good, noise and power good.

The Sony PlayStation 5 runs its memory hot, but the SOC thermals seem OK. We'll look at PS5 thermals, power, and noise in this testing. Noise & power are good, though!

In this benchmark of the PlayStation 5, we're testing thermals, power, and acoustics, and also running a clip of partial tear-down & disassembly of the PS5. We left the liquid metal untouched (and heatsink mounted) for long-term viability and endurance testing, but fortunately, the board layout allowed us to still easily probe memory and VRM / MOSFET thermals since these components are not directly under the primary heatsink. In fact, the memory barely has a heatsink at all, although the VRM is contacted to a heatpipe and smaller heatsink. The PS5's large blower fan seems to spin at a low enough speed to maintain noise targets and avoid the complaints of the previous generation, but we think there's room in Sony's design to improve thermals in both the chassis walls and the fan PWM aggression.

Must be a relief for the Sony hardware engineers that a hobo-looking youtuber looked into the design of their console and deemed it having sufficient cooling.

No coil whine at least on the console he tested, after that it is not impossible that it happens on other games.
Fan noise level is 33-35~dB at full load.
The machine's fan can run at a much higher speed and thus improve cooling further, but this will be at the expense of noise.
Quiet console.
SoC temperatures are excellent.
The heat dissipation of the memory chips is poor, however, so the temperature is a bit hot, although it is possible that for Sony this data is still quite good.
The side panels (faceplate) increase the temperature on the VRM, memory, SoC ... etc, by removing them we gain ~5°C.
One of the GDDR6 memory modules is thermally a bit warmer than Gamers Nexus would like at 93-95°C, but this is a package measure, so it is possible that the silicon itself is a bit colder than that. You can only be sure of this if you have direct access to the chip temperature sensor to find out the actual temperature of the silicon in the memory.
The memory cooling system on the back of the PCB could be improved in future revisions of the console.
It is quite efficient in terms of power consumption given its power.
In any case the apu temperatures are good and the same goes for the SSD.
Overall Sony has done a very good job of managing the fan noise compared to the older consoles.
Tests of the Xbox Series X are also planned.

Sony Says ‘There’s News to Come’ in Response to Microsoft’s Game Pass

In an interview with TASS Russian News Agency, Ryan was specifically asked how Sony will respond to Game Pass, to which he said, “There is actually news to come, but just not today. We have PlayStation Now, which is our subscription service, and that is available in a number of markets.”
