Yay, Target has the PS5 in stock. But the retailer doesn't allow for mail delivery only in-store pick up which confuses me. The closes store to me is of course out of stock and the next available store available for pick up is 55 miles away. Ummmm, just had a snow storm so not driving anywhere for a couple of days.

Like millions of others I'm really frustrated by the low stock issues. But its not like I can blame anyone outside the scalpers making things harder. I'll just have to remain patient and keep my fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed in the hopes of securing a PS5 soonish.

Best friend actually found one at a Belk's. Didn't know they were even still in business.

Not sure I've caught Target while in stock. I know they are requiring in store pickup but I'm not sure if that means it ships to the store you want it at or if it has to just be in stock already. Kind of sucks if its the latter obviously as who knows how long that would be depending on location.

Los Angeles had big Target stock this morning for awhile, but all gone.

I'm starting to think that I don't want a PS5 so much as I want to stop thinking about getting one, if that makes any sense. As a gamer and like many others I've been on the hunt for a PS5 for months now. Its kind of become an obsession at this point and it feels like I just want to get one to check off something in my mind. I mean, sure I do believe it'll help me with this feeling of isolation and loneliness that many of us are feeling because of the Pandemic. But that'll help for a few hours before those feelings creep back in. The PS5 is not going to save me but it'll help.

Yeah, I definitely only want one so badly because they are so hard to get. If a whole bunch of stock had dropped after the holidays I probably wouldn't even need one right now. I mean, I was always going to get one eventually, but I have plenty already to play on PC and XSX. Buying a PS5 will just add to my backlog at this point. I must have one though.

Getting one in my Amazon cart and having it vanish is just the last straw.

I was super lucky to get an XSX. I’m just going to act like the PS5 doesn’t launch until the fall.

That's the right mentality to have, but I don't think it will take that long. Keep an eye on Amazon and twitter tomorrow morning. Thursdays seem to be a day when stock hits major retailers (although last week was a big zero).

I think MLB The Show 21 is the first game now that I feel I'd want a PS5 for, which is end of April. I haven't really paid attention to buying one much since the new year so I may try a bit harder now and hope I get lucky by April. If I don't have a PS5 by then I'd probably just go with the PS4 version for one more year. After that I don't think it's until GT7 still. Of course I have held off on a few games like Ghosts of Tsushima and God of War until I can play them on PS5 so while I'd definitely play those right away I've already waited this long to play them so whats another few months.

Edit: Actually just announced the new editions of MLB that include both gen version and the Jackie Robinson (!!) Steel Book edition is at $85. Current gen disc and next gen is a code so that works for me.

MLB the Show 21 is also coming to Xbox. It's no longer an exclusive title.

No XSX either yet. I'm most likely getting a PS5 first though for the exclusives and single player stuff and will worry about an XSX later maybe once Battlefield 6 comes out.

Walmart was in today for 2-3 cycles over a 30 minute period. Had Add to cart option a couple times including captcha but nothing. Also found the following link on NowInStock for disc version. Walmart link that auto adds to cart if it's in stock so you don't have to play games. People suggest F5 spamming this link and if it goes into cart switch to app and go from there.

It's just funny that people keep writing these articles, Sony has sold every PS5 that they've released in Japan, you can't do better than selling out lol. Obviously they need more stock but there is an issue with semiconductors that goes beyond gaming consoles. Some are still trying to spin that the PS5 has production issues even though they've sold around 1.3 million more consoles than the Series X/S and neither one can be found on store shelves for more than a few minutes.

This article seems to be more about software for the quarter, Sony didn't release anything on PS4 in Japan through that quarter that would be a huge seller there and comparing switch to playstation right now is silly anyway being that the PS4 is at the end of it's lifecycle and the PS5 can't be found anywhere.

They've got production issues same as SeriesX, doesn't matter how many you can sell, it just sucks some proper gamers can't get their hands are on the consoles due to scalpers.

The production issues that some are claiming are that Sony is having problems because of their design choices which is not the case, semiconductors are in short supply across the board Including automobile production among other things not just for PlayStation 5 and coronavirus is to blame for most of it.

The scalper thing is a problem, online orders are always under attack that way and it seems that a lot of the time when a restock is done it's for online orders only which is understandable but sucks. Hopefully soon they start letting people just buy them in a store, if the shops are open anyway there is no point in keeping people from buying a console in a store, just make them line up outside and follow social distancing when you have stock to sell.

Target's last most recent PS5 restock was only for in-store pick up which is madness with the Pandemic still raging. I'm sorry but in-store purchase should not be the priority right now. Just let me purchase online and I'll foot the bill for shipping.

You would say that, homer. It was absolutely due to their design decisions; the big one being to design a console for release Holiday 2020.

Not even like park in the parking lot pickup? 🤮

Online shipping makes it really hard to keep the scalpers from buying it up. Stores are already open all the time anyway, it's not launch day where you'd have dozens of people lined up for a single product. They likely will only be getting a few at a time, just make it first come first serve.

At launch Sony didn't allow new in store purchases on launch day they had to have been pre-ordered, MS allowed launch day sales which caused people to line up. If you want the best chance at getting a console I don't think online orders are the way to go. If you go into any Target or Walmart right now there are going to be hundreds of people in the store already, a few more isn't going to make a big difference plus you could put a sign up in the window when you are sold out. Hell you could even put up a table outside and have the console buyers show up there place their order and the console can be brought out to them, I would still rather do that than attempt an online order.

I really hope they remodel the PS5... It's huge, ugly, and white

EDIT... Maybe in 2+ years Sony will bring out an improved PS5 Pro

You get used to it, I do wish they offered black plate replacements though.

I'm playing through TLOU2 on my PS5 and while it took a while for the game to click for me, it finally has. How Naughty Dog managed a game like this, graphics and game-play wise on the PS4, I'll never know. Makes me really anxious for what Naughty Dog and the rest of Sony's 1st party studio have cooking for the PS5.

For anyone stuck on PS4 for now with PS+, don't forget to sign on the app or the Store website and add the free PS5 games to your library. If you only go in on your PS4 it doesn't even show them to you, but of course you can save them now and download them later on.

I could never get into the first one. I do have the remastered version from PS+ and saw it in my list last night. Had me thinking of trying it again.
