I thought I was over the madness of getting a PS5 but have serious regrets not ordering one of those bundles Gamestop had on offer. I never thought trying to secure a console could drive me this crazy.
The last time I turned on my PS5 was Dec 2. So looking back, I wouldn't have been in such a hurry. I was thinking of Returnal next month, but that was delayed. I hear ya, pickings are slim for new titles that take advantage of the new tech. But last night I had the thought about how now would be a great time to replay God of War if I had a PS5. After that thought I slumped sadly in my chair when it became clear that I could have secured a PS5 yesterday if I wasn't so stupid thinking about the slight extra cost of the bundle because I don't like discs anymore.The last time I turned on my PS5 was Dec 2. I also really want to play the Spidey expansion and although I was open to getting it for my PS4 Pro. I now refuse to experience it on anything other than a PS5. Also Godfall is another I want to play and wouldn't mind giving Demon's Souls a try during this slow period of gaming.
My "new" games will be all the later PS4 games I have yet to try like God of War. I figure I'll enjoy them even more with enhancements.
My goodness are you in for a treat with God of War. I guess we're all in for a treat with the addition of 60fps for silky smoothness. But at 30fps the game played extremely well with super tight and responsive controls which is needed if you want to make the most out of the deep combat system. The story & presentation along with the action make it the ultimate package for any fan of action/adventure games. Truly one of the best reimaginings of an older franchise.
Yep I have God of War and Ghosts of Tsushima on standby. I have Death Stranding as well but haven't heard of any advantages for that on PS5 and not sure that type of game really needs 60fps. I'm playing the Horizon Zero Dawn DLC right now on PS4 Pro in resolution mode and the lower frame rate isn't a big deal in that game. Not sure what it runs at but maybe between 30-60 as I played Uncharted 4 recently and that definitely felt 30.
Ghost of Tsushima is one of my favorite games in years, I'm jealous you will get to experience it for the first time at 60fps! I'm planning on downloading it even though I have the Platinum trophy, just to see how it runs. Guess I can finally try the DLC.
I'll be playing a lot of last gen upgraded games too. The new PS5 upgraded version of Spiderman is the first game I'll be playing. I'm planning on downloading and finally trying Days Gone since it's free for PS5 owners. Been holding out on Last of US 2 (which was idiotic since I bought it at launch, really need to stop doing that) in the hopes we get the rumored PS5 patch.
Nah, Death Stranding doesn't need an increase to framerate but a resolution boost to include true 4K would be nice. That game was so awesome and is not appreciated for what it does. I think some gamers thought it was something that its not but to be fair Kojima didn't explain how weird and trippy the game would be and left that discovery to those who played it. My only complaint about Death Stranding is that Team Kojima left the best, most powerful and fun to use weapons for the end with almost no reason to continue while using these suped-up weapons. I had thought some DLC would come out to allow me to use all the gear and weapons I acquired in my long playthrough but it seems Team Kojima has moved on.
Even a "smooth" 30 is still 30 to me, especially getting spoiled with games like Ac:V on XSX.

I was too late. I just noticed your post and immediately went to the site but there's message at the bottom that states "today's allotment of PS5s is sold out but we have PS5 accessories available", bahahaha.
Thanks for sharing this update. Perhaps I need to sign up for some sort of social media to get updates for future restocks. I don't have any presence on social media outside a google account for youtube. Probably why I'm among the few that are the last to know when this thing goes up for sale, lol.
I was following the below two Twitter channels for the last few months. They're what helped me get one ysterday. That said, I've been using them for two full months before I actually got one, so it's still a crap shoot!

I'm truly a moron for not getting one when I had the chance, even my brother who's not a gamer but knows how much I am asked me "what the hell is wrong with you"?

I only follow Wario but I've heard the PS5StockUpdates is quicker. Nowadays it seems like there is a set time for when they go live so maybe not as needed now.

Yeah I've been following PS5StockAlerts and they seem to be accurate about stock drops. The issue is just being lucky enough to get through as it doesn't last long. Anytime they've said some is dropping, it seems accurate. Not sure where the info originally comes from though.
I just leave twitter open all day since I'm working from home anyway. The issue seems to be the bots jumping in almost instantly or just bad luck.
To those who have both the XSX and PS5... Wasn't the PS5 supposed to load games faster, and be an all around faster console over Microsoft's systems? = What happened? I keep reading that the XSX is faster
I feel like destiny 2 loads faster on the xsx than on my ps5. I haven’t played it in over a month, so if it’s changed I can’t say.
my guess is destiny 2 on the xss would have the fastest loading times, it has the exact same ssd as the xsx but has smaller packages/data/resources to funnel through. In theory four times as fast, because not 4k
PS5 exclusives load faster than another gaming device.
