Agreed. And at the same time, Sony just shows a controller and they've got millions of views in a few days. I think a certain % of people will jump to X this gen, but the PS brand is still so strong they can still wait and be fine.

I think they've had a lot of missteps already, and I still think the PS5 was meant for a 2019 release, but all they have to do is show a few trailers for their big exclusives and most people won't care.

I have seen that the PS5 was meant to be for 2019 but if that was the case I would expect them to be more prepared software wise than Xbox. I also expect them to be more prepared as Xbox bought a ton of studios in 2018 and had to integrate them and Sony only bought Insomniac who were already like first party. The silence is just starting to get boring. Even for announced games we haven't got a Ghost gameplay! Sony's marketing since 2019 has been really weird.

The SSD was worthy of the time, I think they spent too much time on the audio portion myself.

you have a point there, for someone like Cerny to be all giddy to showcase his baby he touch on other subjects like the audio chip which should have been focused by others in that profession....my god, did he pull a trump covid19 meeting

Nah Sony is smart. They're trying to sell PS4 hardware and software as much as they can before PS5 comes out.

Look at MS. They know their Xbox One hardware ($200 for Xbox One X a month ago and now nationwide price dropped to $300) and software aint selling (game pass) so might as well start the next gen.

Lmao, Sony is using Zoom for meetings? Good luck with that, probably have a decent sized amount of hackers sitting in on every single meeting.

I'm not sure if online meeting /broadcasting /security feeds have improved much over the past decade but anyone even slightly in the know, knows that s*** was like wild west levels of random security wise for a long time. Like open directories of feeds accessible with a click style bad; I'm sure it's improved a bit since then but Zoom specifically has been noted to have security issues recently.

He has a horrible record, but this doesn’t seem too far-fetched...?

Just some things that sound "off".

Sending an invite and it simultaneously showing them a stream?

Starting a broadcast everytime someone sends an invite sounds completely unrealistic; the amount of time it would take to establish a connection to get the stream going just to splash on someone's screen for second. And for a stream to pop up on someone's screen, it would have to be at least some distractingly annoying size to be visually legible. That doesn't sound like something that anyone would ever want on their screen. Not to mention that with the time it'd take to start a broadcast and for someone to recieve an invite, and thus start downloading the feed, would they send a slightly delayed invite to pull all of that off? That all just seems a bit unrealistic.

Then even if all that were plausible, like, sure they could do that, though I'm not sure who would ever want that, but the next point he's talking about it "auto-launching games via invite"?

Having the option to get an invite and then the game just auto-launches without accepting it?

Am I misinterpreting what he meant or does that not sound like the worst possible idea ever?

I kind of figured they were going to give us the ability to edit higher quality video right on the console, we can edit the lower quality stuff on consoles now but even on the One X if you want to edit 4K quality you have to put it on an external drive and move it to a PC and do it.

I also figured they'd be giving us deeper editing options overall but who knows? One thing I wish they'd do is make it the universal photo mode button for games that have one. Right now some games have you do it from the start menu, some have you click both thumb sticks, some make you click a thumbstick and a face button and it just seems like a disjointed experience, it'd be nice to have it all done the same way for every game. I wish every dev would go as deep with the photo mode as GG did for Horizon ZD, they even let you change the time of day, I'm sure that can't be built in at a system level but it would be awesome if it could.

The article is in Spanish, but the CEO of Tequila Works (Raúl Rubio) revealed in an interview some new interesting tidbits about the DualSense:

- ''And the haptic feedback, the most interesting aspect for Rubio of all that has been presented to date about the PlayStation 5 controller. “Haptic feedback is something that we will be able to see not only in passive terms. What would happen if we started having biometric data of the player and if we could know how he feels? In other words, to have an experience more similar to what we have started to see with Stadia ”.

- The create button does more than solely sharing gaming experiences, but he refrained from clarifying as to not break NDA

And all of that would have been unnecesssay if Sony included one slide with bullet points. The whole "have to choose what you spend time on " excuse isn't valid.

Considering VRS is included in the RDNA2 package it is valid IMO, Cerny tried to focus on things that are unique to the PS5. Just because MS chose to make it a priority doesn't mean the team at Sony feels it's as important as some of the other features they decided to focus on in the time they had..

Not when it is custom. And just cause they say it is RDNA 2 doesn't instantly mean it has everything associated with it.

Nobody said it has to be priority .

Stop saying time. A slide, picture, diagram takes no damn time and takes nothing away from what theyy prioritize. This is why the lame excuse isn't valid.

You show it and then you have to explain it, it's not like VRS is some widely known thing among the gaming community, if MS hadn't mentioned it the vast majority of people on gaming forums would never have known the difference because they would have never heard of it. In hindsight would it have been good to include a quick mention just so a bunch of people on forums would have had to find something else to argue about? maybe so but it's dumb to just assume something isn't there if it's not talked about especially in a case like this where that tech is part of the package with RDNA2. It's fine saying we don't know is 100% accurate if it's not mentioned by name but taking an absolute stance on something without the actual info is pretty stupid.

A patent filed by Sony hints at 3D stacked chips with dual heatsinks.

"[0019] This structure of the electronic equipment 1 eliminates the need for a space for a heat radiating apparatus on the upper side of the integrated circuit apparatus 5 as illustrated in FIG. 1, thus making it possible to dispose another component 9 (e.g., a transmission/reception module with an antenna and so on, a sensor, an external storage apparatus) of the electronic equipment 1 on the upper side of the integrated circuit apparatus 5 and ensuring a higher degree of freedom in laying out the component 9. In the example of the electronic equipment 1, the component 9 is disposed on the opposite side of the heatsink 21 with the circuit board 10 and the integrated circuit apparatus 5 provided therebetween. That is, the component 9 is disposed close to the upper side of the integrated circuit apparatus 5. Specifically, a distance L1 between the component 9 and the integrated circuit apparatus 5 is smaller than a height H1 of the heatsink 21. Unlike the example of the electronic equipment 1, another heat radiating apparatus may be provided on the upper surface of the integrated circuit apparatus 5. As a result, two heat radiating apparatuses are provided on the integrated circuit apparatus 5, thus providing improved cooling performance."
