I think the digital version is actually very nice looking, whereas the disc version is...not. It almost looks like the disc is an attachable add-on.

But there is no unified standard on Xbox either. Its always been up to the publishers the question is what is Sony going to do.

Exactly, MS keeps talking it up like they invented it even though Sony had cross-buy for years lol. Not only that but MS has to list publishers who support smart buy because not all will. EA had to be shamed into doing it differently than they had originally announced, I'm sure in the end most of the big publishers probably will support some form of cross gen upgrade and they aren't just going to do it for one platform so this is a whole lot of nothing really.

I'm not a fan of the digital one needing a stand even to lay it flat but I guess since those corners flare out they have no choice.

I like both of them, but the disc version, appears to lay down with the stand a little better. I'm really juggling my thoughts as to whether i should go with the disc version now.

Do you need the stand for when it is upright?

It's always pictured with one, the PS4 was as well but didn't technically need it. I'm guessing it's probably a good idea. I live in CA and if I ever did use a console standing up there is no way I wouldn't want some kind of support, one good small earthquake and the thing could fall over.

Where in CA do you live?

How are they talking like they invented it? Unless I've missed something all I've seen is them marketing buying games on Xbox one and get the upgrade when you get SeriesX, I'm sure PS5 will have something similar but it's all pro consumer marketing.

It was a bit of a hyperbolic statement of course but the constant BS on social media from xbots about it and then the trailer the other day made me laugh. I can see the official account tweeting about it that makes sense it's there to advertise for their console but a trailer just seems overboard to me.

One big difference is Sony doesn't seem to be doing many if any cross-gen first party games to begin with so cross buy in that sense just won't exist.

That's honestly very unexpected, there's MILLIONS of xbox and ps4 owners that they lose sales on.... very strange choice imo.
I'm glad it's happening though, hopefully other follows soon.

From a selfish point of view, I’m glad too as I’m making the jump to Next gen day one. It also may not be a bad business decision on their part too, Being next gen only will make it a must by for many owners of the new consoles which are likely to sell 4-5 million consoles by years end between them.

"We are also excited for the game to demonstrate the power of PlayStation 5 this holiday. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will show off near-instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio and the DualSense controller. We’ve upgraded our characters with 4D scans and improved skin shading for more realistic looking characters and spline-based hair that moves far more naturally. Many of the city’s assets have also been updated to take advantage of the new console. As you experience Miles’s story, you’ll see, hear, and feel things in a whole new way, all thanks to PS5."

And this reason here is why graphics alone is not enough for next gen. The value for this extension has now gone up.

Can't wait to hear the 3d audio, I wonder how they can show it off?

It's an extension to the last game. I'm guessing that means DLC, so it might be less than that. I am just really glad its not Spider-Man 2. I want to wait for developers to get used to the hardware.

There is zero chance its less than that. There a chance its $40 because of the Lost Legacy comparisons but I wouldn't really count on that either.

The lost legacy was $40 so I'm guessing this will be too although it is licensed so Marvel is going to be getting a cut as well which could play a part in the pricing. The Lost Legacy took around 10 hours to complete, I think most of us have paid $60 for games that took less time than that to complete so I can see why they may try to charge full price I just hope they don't. It is still an open world game, it's getting graphical upgrades so extra work is being done so it's not just a typical expansion like we often get on consoles.

Wow! That's larger than i originally thought. I definitely see something like that garnering a lot more attention. This one is definitely on my list now for purchase.

I agree with his price guess. Rumors have the manufacturing at $450. Looking at the PSP Go vs the PSP. An all digital version sounds right around the $400 mark while the disc version sounds like $500. I also doubt that they would price the thing at $600 like they did the PS3 and risk a repeat of that history.

But it's obvious why Sony didn't reveal the price of their system nor did i expect them to. Then again, they didn't reveal the cooling system, the Ui, the create button or the touchpad. So there's still a few things we still don't know.

Has it been confirmed if the dualsense will have motors or actuators? If the latter, could we see a price increase matching that of the joycons at 79.99?

Well, Sony has said anything about their controller other than the adaptive triggers and haptics. So everything is still a mystery. There is still quite a bit we don't know about Sony's system and strategy. These guys are only letting slip what they have to right now.
