The stand has to be sold separately even if it comes with one packed in, you could need to replace it at some point. It's probably not really required to stand it vertically anyway although it'd be a good idea to have one, same thing with the PS4. Hopefully it's not needed to lay the digital version horizontally, I guess it depends on how fragile the corners are where it flares out.

That being said those prices aren't official either and that could all be BS, I hope it's true though.

The scorpio edition and Taco Bell one Xs came with stands....I don’t think there’s any other way to get a white stand

Those were special editions. These are launch models. It's not the same and we're talking about PlayStation not an Xbox. But like I say, because this is a different design, it does appear that a stand could, in fact, be a good possibility now.

I'm thinking some of them didn't know this.

This guy makes a lot of Xbox fanmade console mockups, here's his first attempt at PS5:

The exec teased curious fans that the PS5 could come in an all-black version, per Tom’s Guide. He also added that players will “definitely be seeing some special editions” without expanding the subject. That’s where he said that the PS5 “is also customizable in ways previous gens weren’t.”

That’s undoubtedly a provocative statement to make, but also a very puzzling one. If MacLaurin was only referring to the PS5 design, then his remark might not be that exciting to gamers who don’t care how the console looks and don’t want to change the design in any way. Others will be thrilled to hear they’ll be able to customize the design to their liking. Maybe the plates can be swapped, Tom’s Guide speculates. But Sony is yet to confirm such a feature.

The 360 did this with the face plate when it launched at $300 and $400, but it could go beyond this, which may be the reason the controller looks the way it looks.

If that does turn out to be the case, that may come down to one of the ways that they plan to keep the cost down -- perhaps a $400 price tag. I'm just saying...

Will not cost under $450, Sony can't afford it.

If they launch at such an odd price point, that would definitely be the first. Then again, since Cerny took chair, there has been a lot of unorthodox occurrences lately. So, i can't put it pass this but neither can I overlook the possibility that it also may not, based on what has taken place up to this point.

I'm guessing $499 and $449 for the digital version, they'll prob go even on this.

Based on the rumors, it cost around $450 to manufacture the console, so this has to be factored in, also. Whose ever doing this ballpark numbers, they've been pretty accurate from the pass products. If Sony is removing the expensive drive, i guarantee you this is going to play a part in that manufacturing cost. This is why i don't put the $400 price tag by them not being able to achieve. But we'll see, right?

The digital one will make them more money down the road, every game will be sold through PSN which basically doubles what they get from third party sales and it cuts the retailer out on 1st party games. Yeah it's not totally free either, it's not like PSN doesn't cost money to run but they are still making much more per game than they do with retail and it also cuts down used game sales as well so hopefully they are willing to offer it for $100 less than the one with the disc drive, it would hardly seem worth it to offer two sku's at launch with only a $50.00 price difference but we'll see.

but first party exclusives sell much better in physical form than digital :(

:p ;)

Audio will always play a crucial role in our games and the next generation of consoles boasts a host of fantastic audio features. It looks like Tempest will free up CPU that we used to need for audio, so that leaves room for us to use for other aspects of the game. The HRTF functionality seems particularly interesting, too. We're also excited about Project Acoustic's wave-based technology. It's all very promising and we're looking into how it would tie into our existing workflow and technology.

Interesting...
