Never saw anything like that locally. I didn't buy many (less than 20) and most of them were 1st party games. I remember paying $60 for DK64 with the ram pak thingy, and that was the most expensive game I ever bought for it.Electronics Boutique and other retailers sold them at those higher prices brand new at launch, N64 games didn't really have a standard price often it changed on a per title basis because the amount of storage in the cartridges was different. When I got Ocarina of time I got the gold pre order version and that was $75.00
For Marvel’s Spider-Man, which is the ultimate edition that includes the new Miles Morales expansion we are looking at 105 GB as a minimum requirement. To compare, the original PS4 release weights roughly 62GB and adding the three DLC that released, we are sitting at a total close to 70GB on PS4. Mind you that this is the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT per Sony wording, which in truth doesn’t always equal to the actual release size. An example of this would be The Last of Us Part 2 saying it requires a minimum of 90GB, when in reality the final download size was only 76GB. Chances are that requirement is needed so the system has space to do unpacking.

....Or maybe the majority just prefer physical over digital and thus based on those figures were more physical SKUs manufactured over the digital edition. Why do I say that? The PS4 didn't have a digital SKU nor did the PS3. So to assume that that market is completely ready for an all digital SKU at the same rate as a physical would could mean fewer sales.
From my position, i can tell you that although the digital SKU is cheaper, Internet connections are not reliable enough to the point where i feel like I can trust them 100%.
Or maybe they made such a small allotment of the digital edition because they really are losing more money on it, than the regular PS5, and they simply needed a box that they could say was cheaper than the Series X.
Just because the physical version is more desired than the digital doesn't mean the market isn't ready for a digital version.
And where are you living that you don't trust your internet connection? I could see if you had data caps or low speeds but the actual connection?

I thought it was a full game, not an expansion
They all should give us the option to turn physical into digital. I'd love that. That's a great feature
wholy s***
I'm gonna get the hate for this, but...
If they had any must have launch games, they probably wouldn't be doing that.
It's an insane deal for newcomers, but most of us who've been PS4 owners for most of the console's lifespan already have played most of those games.
