People need to just let it go. Scorpio is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Expect worlds and graphics like you've never seen before. There was never a doubt in my mind that Xbox would come out on top in the end.

There is no end. Xbox just goes on and on.

I think everyone appreciates not having a power brick if they don't have to but I don't think it's a big problem if there is one either. I guess it depends on your entertainment center and if it's easy to hide it or not.

You know you can tuck it under the TV like every normal person that doesn't build an alter for their console in the middle of their living room. Just saying...
we can do a lot of things...why don't we start with quitting the Xbox victim game?
It's not that serious. Just saying...

Exactly, pretty trivial thing that most adults can overcome.

Scorpio to have compartmentalised resolution and framerate options.

Future hardware to improve resolutions and framerates without patching!

What about the word "exclusive"? I'd like hear more about exclusives. Xbox One is mercilessly being ridiculed on social media for the lack of exclusives, and the negative ripples have traveled far and wide.

Its not that bad. They do have exclusives.

Why would you care what people are saying on social media

Exclusive means one platform only right?

Give MS's dev teams time and they'll have more exclusives, the halo team and gears team already released games not that long ago and it takes years to put a new game together.

I'm almost certain after the Scalebound outcry, MS is certainly working on the exclusives portfolio now. We'll see more exclusives games and, they'll stick around more often. Phil himself all ready stated this in an earlier tweet.

Here's the issue I see. If gamers want MS to develop new exclusive IP, than they need to realize that it requires taking risks on MS' part AND they need to be open to the idea that any new exclusive IP might not interest them specifically. It's a bit ridiculous to expect them to take risks but hold it against them if it doesn't turn out.

Will anyone else not purchase this console if it comes with a power brick?

I likely won't purchase one if it DOESN'T come with a power brick. I'd hate to have the chance of an overheating powerhouse igniting my beautiful TV.

Killer instinct, Sunset Overdrive, Recore, Quantum Break, Project Spark, Ryse and Ori were risks.

Scale bound was so risky they risked never having a tangible product.

If they made sequels to those, people would only accuse them of milking those franchises and not making enough new IP.

Well certainly Ori is pretty low risk but I essentially agree

their big issue imo is none of those games are Halo, Gears, Forza tier, minus Quantum Break which turned out to be average/above average in reviews.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved f***ing Sunset Overdrive and would love to see a sequel for scorpio's launch(so my eyes will bleed with all the color, hdr and 4k lol), but the majority of their risks are mid tier games, which while there is nothing wrong with that, as mid tier games disappeared for a while, their risks don't feel like they have their full backing.

It's just that, their output in terms of big budget AAA games has been mediocre as it's still the same 3 franchises (since fable is dead for now) for the last 12 years.

Maybe things will change with Sea of Thieves, but seriously, they are in need of some new internal talent that get halo, gears, forza tier support. They need new 1st party franchises that are Halo, Gears, Forza tier. Don't even need to be new franchises, they have a lot of IPs that could be revived that could be used in different genres if they wanted.

Yeah. Honestly dont agree with this.

As of now, any new IP MS releases will be met with a lot of scrutiny. Not to say that they shouldnt still release new Ip's but with gamers of the mindset that Microsoft simply can't win against Sony, exclusives that are bound for release will be seen as an attempt to dethrone the Playstation platform -- which it just isn't about. Not at all.

Not to mention going against this mindset with a brand new, risk induced exclusive from the house that Microsoft built. A new, unproven franchise to boot? It doesn't matter if 343i or T.C. were to create a new franchise with an ungodly budget, the first release would not be met well. Thats exactly why Microsoft needs to keep pushing the Ip's they've all ready created, regardless -- build upon them. Do it for the fans and think long term.

Minecraft was a huge get.

Ryse was originally a 360 game that got turned into a Kinect game than into a X1 launch game and I doubt they really thought it was going to be a huge hit based on that but they needed something to flesh out the launch lineup and it probably was the best looking game they had. I'm sorry Ori wasn't a risk, that thing probably cost peanuts to make compared to other titles. I'm not saying it's not a quality game, based on reviews and people I know that have played it it's a great game but it wasn't something they could have lost big on if it flopped so how risky was it? KI was a small risk as well, again small studio launching an incomplete game so if it totally flopped no big loss, Recore was probably another game that didn't cost all that much comparatively, if it did and it was something they had confidence in they'd have charged full price for it.

Sunset Overdrive and QB were 2nd party games but I'm sure they spent a decent chunk of change on those, honestly those seem like the only risky games they've released this gen that I can think of right now, there may be more but that's all that comes to mind. Neither one seemed to do all that well when it comes to sales and from what I've gotten from the few friends I know that have an X1 is that SO was a really good game and QB was a bit of a bore. Honestly if I were MS I'd spend more on internal studios and stop making deals with Remedy, they take too long to produce product and their games don't seem to connect with a large audience anymore.

As far as Minecraft, for $2 Billion it better be a huge get lol

That is terrible business though. Halo and gears don't move numbers like they use to. Their goal is to get new customers not maintain the same ones they have had for a decade +.

Catering only to your fans is thinking short term, not long term.

I think they would have been better off letting the collective work on that new IP instead of making them cancel it so they could take over Gears of War after they bought the IP. I think it's hard for a studio to get the juices going creatively when they have to take over an established franchise, especially when they were already working hard on a new and original IP.
