So far I have thoroughly enjoyed the PS+ freebies on PS4, easily more than the full releases. Don't Starve is hands down the best game I have played this year or last, I can't get enough of it. Contrast I enjoyed and got 100% (fairly easy to do), and off course Resogun is just a blast to play. With Outlast coming next month, I could not be more pleased with what + has had to offer.
I still haven't started Don't Starve yet, going through the PS3 PS+ games right now, lol. What do you find so good about it?
It is a niche game and understandably it will not click with some people. For me, it is the immense sense of exploration, experimentation, and mystery, that make it such a compelling experience. It does not hold your hand whatsoever, and for a game as deep as this is, that can be daunting, but for me it is exhilarating. I'm tired of the "mindlessly following breadcrumbs" gameplay that we seem to get out of 99% of games these days, so this approach is a breath of fresh air. Also, while this is a rouge-like, dying is tempered by also rewarding you with new characters who are interesting and different enough to subtly change how you play the game.
Can't place my finger on one element that makes this game resonate so well with me, but I find myself planning strategies in my head all day long and anticipating when I can jump back in. If I had one criticism, it is that the early game is a bit repetitive as you re-gather materials and re-learn craft recipes, but once past the initial struggle to survive, you can really branch out in quite a few ways and have some wildly varying experiences.
Thinking of getting psn plus for a year to take advantage of the discounts and free games, such as getting tales for $10 instead of $20, so already a $10 savings. One question though, I know it says in the faq that to take advantage of the free games that rotate each month, you have to download them and if you don't, it's you snooze you lose. My question is do you have to complete the download or just initiate it and then you can cancel?
Fox example when bioshock infinite gets added, I don't plan on playing it right away and since I only have 120 gig hd, I won't have space to download all the free games I want, but want to play later. I know you can download and delete, but I'm on a monthly cap by isp so it's a waste of bw to download and delete games I won't play right away.

You can start the download and cancel then re-download at a later time as long as you have PS+. You just need to add it to your cart and process it through first so it's in your account.
Ah cool. Thanks. I'll probably jump on it. Of the initial free games they give you, I've never played ico/shadow and want to, so already more savings!
Yeah, same. I've never played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus so I've downloaded both already. I recommend you get PS+ quick because Ico is supposed to leave the instant game collection today, I think!
Ack thanks for the info! Ico/Shadow are the only 2 I want to play from the instant game collection, so I guess I'm signing up today!
Yea weird how they changed the Store. Before I think you just just "buy" the item and then it would ask you to download it or not. Now as far as I can tell it has to start the download although you can just cancel it right away.

It took me a lot longer than the average cause according to http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=8348 shadow is only 9 1/2 hours, but I kind of find that hard to believe cause it took me almost 18 hours, lol. Granted I did take forever on figuring out how to beat some bosses, but even the ones I knew how to beat, some of them just took a long time to beat. Was a fun and great game though! My only two complaints was I thought the camera was s*** and controlling the horse was s*** too, lol.

Anyone else notice that BioShock Infinite has an expiration date? I just thought that was strange, even though it expires a a year from now.
Any idea when the NA PS+ list for February is going to be released? I've seen the Euro list but nothing on the NA one.
Soon, I think. So far we only know that Outlast is coming for the PS4. Heard nothing yet for the PS3/Vita.
