So metrics don't matter, there's an army of silent casuals ready to run out and spend $500 on Kinect 2, people in social media are idiots for wanting a PS4 and recognizing its better price/performance, and anyone posting factual metrics to correct others misinformation and unlikely claims is a loser that cares too much. Got it.

But yeah.. writing is on the wall as far as which system has the most hype among people who label themselves gamers.. post on gaming forums, or would actively seek pre-ordering a console.
Doesn't mean things can't change, but I don't know why so many Xbox fans can't at least admit that it seems like PS4 is the more hyped device.
There's still a crap ton of avid gamers who aren't represented by the "super enthusiasts," and enthusiasts who can't afford a console right now anyways.. both companies have to continue to fight for PR wins, and get good exclusive games out.
I will say that "Online" there does seem to be a hype advantage for the PS4......BUT, in real life I don't think it's as big of an advantage(At least not here in the US). Out of the dozen or so friends of mine that own 360's, pretty much ZERO of them visit gaming sites.....let alone read forums, post, or take polls about gaming...so yeah, I think there are a lot of casual Xbox fans out there, but will they buy an X1 at launch? Dunno.....
Actually very close to what some posters here are saying. People post misinfo and delusional speculation, then whoever steps up to respond with facts and reason is hypocritically called a "fanboy that cares too much", mocked, and dismissed.
There's literally no winning with posters in denial that call names and engage in ridiculous fallacies and baseless accusations rather than use logic, reason, evidence, etc. It doesn't matter how right or reasonable a poster is, or what the metrics indicate, they get attacked anyway. Similar to misterx's blog and Neowin, it's a place for the minority to lash out against the majority.
Your response to social media is to insult the majority of people as dumb sheep. Actually they seem more informed than some posters here in denial and out of touch with reality, considering they at least recognize PS4 is a more powerful machine. Then you complain that people are discussing sales/popularity. Can't you just lock the thread if you don't think people should be talking about it?

Factual metrics? On what basis? If your going to protrude intelligence alteast take a statistical analysis class.
So the xb boys who been in denial from day one have been proven wrong over and over with the most recent being scores of xbo games being worse then they claimed... Only thing left would be the sales argument... Can't wait to see how this unfolds.
Personally, one console selling more or less will not affect my enjoyment of my purchase.
