Wait till people start scalping and flipping them….550 dollars for a rather niche product when most people who want PS5s cannot get them and it is required for PS VR2? The thing is more than the console! Lol
Jim Ryan said VR was a strategic opportunity to capitalise on the potentially huge VR market. It's funny that some people seem to think Sony thinks this is a mass market price point, it's cheaper than other VR solutions that have more limited specs. It's supposed to be a niche thing, it's always going to be that's why they aren't putting VR in every game or making this out to be the next big thing in gaming.
Personally, I think it's a waste of resources and they shouldn't bother with it, I'd rather that money went towards making more traditional console games but I know they are smart enough to know that this is going to be a slow roll and even though it's a good value for what's included it's still very expensive and most people won't be buying it.
Honestly it’s a lot of tech for what it is, no oculus quest pro, but similar-ish. I’m sure they’re gonna lose a lot with each sold. Maybe it’ll get a minor revision like the last.$550? Good lord, they know they can milk the s*** out of PS fans. This gimmick should be $399, MAX.
Sony's first party has made 2 games in the past 3 years for PSVR 1. Not sure why anyone would buy this. But since I think this is a joke, I will bow out of this thread.Honestly it’s a lot of tech for what it is, no oculus quest pro, but similar-ish. I’m sure they’re gonna lose a lot with each sold. Dang, I didn’t know it was only two games….astrobot was one of them, no?Sony's first party has made 2 games in the past 3 years for PSVR 1. Not sure why anyone would buy this. But since I think this is a joke, I will bow out of this thread.
That strategy only works if software sales are booming, and they don't. Beat Saber for example only sold like 4 million across PSVR, PC, and Quest. The estimated revenue was a rather small $180 million. That game is one of, if not the biggest selling VR game.Honestly it’s a lot of tech for what it is, no oculus quest pro, but similar-ish. Platform holders do tend to be terrible at supporting their side hardware. Xbox supported Kinect poorly. Sony supported PSP & Vita poorly.Sony's first party has made 2 games in the past 3 years for PSVR 1. Not sure why anyone would buy this. There's a ton of content coming for this.
Better off just getting a Quest 2 for 400 for the larger storage model. It's untethered (makes a huge difference) and does all the processing in headset. You can even tether it to your computer if you want. That price point is nuts, imo.Honestly it’s a lot of tech for what it is, no oculus quest pro, but similar-ish. PC card is pulled what a fn tool.550 dollars for a rather niche product when most people who want PS5s cannot get them and it is required for PS VR2? The thing is more than the console! Lol
It has HDR which is mega for tech peepz.PSVR-2 looks a lot more attractive to me over what Meta provides. I don't have a powerful PC which is what I think I would need in addition to the VR hardware. This makes PSVR cheaper for me since I already have a PS5. PSVR is expensive but doable for me. Mainstream appeal is another matter entirely, just speaking for myself.
PC card is pulled what a fn tool.
It's pulledYou of all people 100% don't have the authority to pull anyone's card.
Hdr is pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. It's still reaaaly niche. I say that as someone with a Quest 1 and 2. It's cool, but like a lot of devices that require set up or special conditions, it just sits most of the time. I've got quite a few games too.It has HDR which is mega for tech peepz.
Billions of colors vs millions of colors is significant when trying to duplicate a sense of reality.Hdr is pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. It's still reaaaly niche.
